  1. I do think a 1:20 game at Wrigley and a 7 pm game at O'Brien could be done in the same day. It'd be a grueling travel day. But you're young. I'm giving it some thought. I can't get the ticket return thing to work, so Serena's not going to get the tickets after all. I'm going to print out alternate directions for the way home on the off chance the cubs don't give up 37 runs and the game last 4 and a half hours. If Maddux sticks around for awhile, it should be pretty quick. 2:20 or so would be my guess -- plenty of time to get to Peoria.

  3. You'd go to both games if you were a real man.
  4. If you can't make your point without making a personal attack, I suggest you don't make it. We're all frustrated but that doesn't excuse this kind of behavior. Everyone take a deep breath.
  5. I never said you couldn't try to get Cubs fans to praise the Cardinals. I just think it's silly to ignore your audience.
  6. Why do you care? If our roles were reversed, I'd be enjoying the Cubs success instead of trying to extract some praise from a bunch of Cardinal fans. It's apparent that some on this board care... Perhaps, but why do you? Your reply didn't address my question at all.

  8. If they lose again tonight, I'm locking this thread. :P
  9. Easy. We do have a few Sox fan members of this site and there's not need to insult them like that.
  10. What's the point of putting the record in there? To troll.
  11. Don't worry; you'll fall in love again someday.
  12. Agreed.
  13. No need to use hyperbole to try to prove your point. I never suggested Hendry should shield him in the minors, just echoed a concern about his ability to adjust to MLB pitching if promoted too soon. The Cubs already did that once, it'd be a shame to do it again, imo.
  14. Do you think the boos will help Corey perform better? Fragile or not, deserved or not, I think they could have a negative effect on Patterson's performence, which is something I care about. And here we go with "To boo or not to boo" discussion #4201329. I hope not. I was just echoing Cubsin05's concern, and tried to hedge my statement with a couple of or-nots.

  16. Yeah, in high school. Pretty sure he hit 93-94 on a gun, too.
  17. I was there, too. Harvey's power is impressive, as was the rope he threw to 2nd base from the RF corner on that leadoff double in the 9th.
  18. Your glib response to wolf sure implied it. I agree with the part in bold, and I think money will be the Brewers' biggest hinderance in maintaining longterm success. I never said it was a guarantee either, but I will point out that the Yankees have had significantly more success than the A's. Are you just being glib again or are you suggesting what you claim not to be saying above?
  19. If there was ever a thread the belonged in Rivalries, this is it. Oh, and ick.
  20. Superstation, smooperstation, right? Huh? Where are the Brewers going to get the revenue to keep up with higher payroll teams like STL, Cubs, or Houston? The Braves had the benefit of a huge, nationwide TV deal. Not so with the Brew-Crew. Sssh - don't tell Oakland you need a lot of money to keep up! And don't tell the Cubs or Yankees they are supposed to be good this year b/c of their high payroll. You are not serious, right? You honestly believe that payroll isn't a huge part of sustained success in MLB? And you're using the Yankees to prove that point? Amazing.
  21. His move back to 3B certainly helps his chances.
  22. To say nothing of his phylum.
  23. Superstation, smooperstation, right?
