  1. I've been saying that S. Florida was overrated for a few weeks now. They beat an Auburn team that was severely struggling at the QB, OL, and RB positions earlier this year, and they beat a West Virinia team that was also a bit overrated and without a healthy starting QB.
  2. ....agree. If I had to guess, I'd say it will be Tennessee-LSU in the SEC Championship game. That said, I'm excited about the Auburn-LSU game Saturday night. LSU has one weakness, and that is at offensive line. Auburn's front seven on defense is without a doubt their strength, so I'm hoping Auburn can exploit this and thus 1) contain the run and 2) put pressure on the QB. A couple of my friends and I may drive over to Baton Rouge Saturday morning, tailgate, and attend the game.
  3. Kentucky would need some help to get to the SEC championship game. They are in the same division as South Carolina who beat them earlier this year and also has only one loss presently....Tennessee and Florida are also in the SEC East.
  4. You are probably correct. Do you think that's the way it should be? LSU would have to beat Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and the SEC Eastern division winner (Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky, or South Carolina) to get to that point. Is that enough in your mind to leapfrog S. Florida or BC? I know it will be in the coaches poll. SFlor has to beat Rutgers, UConn, Cinn, Syracuse, Louisville and Pitt to finish 12-0. Imo, any close game will take away points from them. Is Kentucky in the same division as LSU? If so, if they win out who goes to the Champ game? LSU controls their own destiny in the SEC...they are in the western division while Kentucky is in the east.

  6. Kansas State is no pushover, but they don't have more talent or depth than Auburn nor should they have "beaten Auburn on the road". Kansas State played Auburn when Brandox Cox was more likely to throw a ball into his opponents' arms rather than his receivers'. Also, that was the first college game for 60% of Auburn's starting offensive line. Auburn still won by 10 points. As an aside, South Florida isn't as strong as some think either. If they run the table with the remainder of their Big East schedule, I guarantee you they will lose their bowl game. Auburn turned the ball over 5 times against South Florida and lost in overtime. Auburn is not a contender this year, but they fielded a more talented team than South Florida. As did WV and White got hurt when they lost at SFlor, or does that rule just apply to Auburn? Many good teams are going to win and lose due to turnovers and this season is proving you have to bring it every game no matter who you are. South Florida absolutely deserved both victories over Auburn and West Virginia. Obviously, all teams must deal with injuries, turnovers, etc., and South Florida has done an excellent job in creating turnovers and capitalizing upon injuries this year. The point of that portion of my post is that I do believe South Florida is likely to be exposed as a team with inferior talent/depth if they happen to play an Oklahoma or LSU in the national title game.

  8. Auburn beat the Razorbacks 9-7 last night, and this sets up a game against LSU next weekend that will determine who takes control of the SEC West...LSU, Auburn, and Alabama all share a lead atop that SEC division presently. Edit - Auburn's defense may be the most formidable that LSU will have seen this year.
  9. ok..held them to fg attempt. I feel pretty good about that. Auburn needs to drive the ball now.

  11. baseball is dead to me...less than one month away from iu basketball..
  12. I have it on good authority that Western Kentucky will probably win this game because Ball State's QB is going to be way too stoned to play. I hope this is a joke post, our QB is basically all we've got at this point! It is not. The getting high all the time thing isn't new, so he'll probably be as effective as ever. How the heck did you hear this? I'm Ball State student sports media and I couldn't have even guessed. Let's just say my source is very close to the situation... I could even tell you his preferred "flavor." hooray for wolf's source supplying BS's QB his Orange Kush...so technically, his source could bet on a BS game Friday morning, tamper with the product Friday afternoon, and phase three = profit.
  13. Honestly, I wouldn't sink a boat-load of money into an Auburn-LSU game "vacation" this year either...not after watching Auburn get beaten by Mississippi State. It could very well be a close game, but I just don't know if Auburn has truly turned the corner or not.
  14. An Auburn victory over LSU in two weeks would top it for me..... :pigfly:
  15. Auburn is now back in the top 25. Their 3 freshman offensive linemen continue to get better and are giving Brandon Cox more time to throw the ball. Brad Lester played his first game this season against Vandy this past weekend, and Auburn now has 3 running backs (a junior, sophomore, and freshman) that will all likely get drafted their junior or senior years. I believe that Auburn may match up well with Arkansas this year; Auburn's strength is their d-line and linebackers, but Arkansas always seems to play Auburn well and beat the Tigers last year. I'm pretty sure it's going to be a tight game, and Auburn travel to LSU the following weekend.
  16. This is a must win. There isn't a chance that we go down 0-2 and then win three straight with Webb pitching again. If we falter tonight...go ahead and queue Jim Morrison. This is the end, beautiful friend This is the end, my only friend The end of our elaborate plans The end of ev'rything that stands The end

  19. I'm really nervous also. I think I'm gonna barf... I'm still at work. At least you have the option of alcohol to calm your nerves. I'm rolling out of here at 8:55 central time and I live about 7 minutes away. Under 21. Maybe I can mix some rubbing alcohol into my Minute Maid. screwdriver of champions
  20. He who shall not be named!!!!!!! I was only 7, but I swear he hit 14 grand slams that series. lol....i was 9 at the time and have the same memory.
  21. Hopefully no DBack has 150 RBI this series with a .940 batting average like Clark had. no doubt...Clark was amazing. That series really hurt me.
  22. thoughts of Will Clark and Mark Grace battling it out in '89 just danced across my mind...we are about to watch a Cubs playoff game.
