  1. Politics my ass. If your conference champ didn't play like gutless choking dogs against a horrible Pitt team they woulda gotten the chance to smoke OSU. They didn't. They had the same record as LSU and all the other 2 loss teams. Never will a BE team that has the same record as one of the Big 3 (Big 10/12 and SEC plus ND/USC) get a chance to play in the BCS Championship game. Look at the rankings...WV killed OU but yet they are behind Missouri who beat that ever so tough Arkansas team. Again, the politics of this make it suck. If West Virginia lost to a non-horrible team 5 weeks earlier, they'd probably be in the title game. They lost to a horrible team on the last week of the season. You didn't see any Mizzou fans around here thinking they should have been in the title game. They lost in the last week to a much better team than Pitt. Like it or not, teams are rewarded/penalized for how they finish. West Virginia finished about as poor as you could to a regular season, and therefore were knocked out of the title game. I can't imagine how you could possibly be making this argument when heading into the last week of the season West Virginia was one of 5 1 loss or less teams and they were set for the national title game. Mizzou didn't win their conference. The season should be looked at as a whole and not just the last game as they always drop after a loss when it comes to the final poll before the Bowls. These assumptions of who is good by coaches who don't even watch the games is ridicules and that's all this is based on as the computers matter very little. USC got penalized just as much for losing to Stanford as WVU did for losing to Pittsburgh and USC's loss was in their fifth game of the year. I guarantee that USC would have received more of a push for the title game if it had beaten Stanford and lost a 1 point game at Arizona State on November 22. Yes I know that had USC lost to Arizona State they would have finished second in the Pac-10 but that's not the point. WVU got penalized just as much, if not more, for losing to a team that it was a 28 point favorite to beat than it was for losing it's last game of they year. Don't get me wrong, losing it's last game definitely hurt, but the fact that the lost to a crappy team at home hurt more. So along with those lines they should be rewarded for winning against OU while Mizzou lost twice to them while beating Arkansas. Also, Georgia beat Hawaii? They are rewarded with that by being ranked so high? Please tell me who they beat for this recognition? They got crushed by Tennessee and finished second in their division. Georgia won the last seven games of the season beating Florida, Auburn, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, and Hawaii all by more than 10 points each. Does that not deserve a fair amount of recognition?
  2. IU up 29-13 with 6 minutes to go in the first half at Michigan....
  3. i have no idea...knowing him, probably. my response that will thoroughly piss him off, i'm sure. yeah, I struggled with rooting for LSU, but what's good for the conference is good for my team as well I suppose....and wait..aren't you in fact a southerner by definition?
  4. how is this hit not a personal foul? since when can you leave your feet to tackle the QB? You aren't seriously asking that question, are you? As far as I know, defensive players can leave their feet or even crawl when trying to sack the QB if there isn't helmet to helmet contact, a facemask infraction, or such...
  5. lsu's d looks lost out there... edit - the offense did as well with the botched snap and such...yowsers
  6. Agreed. I dont like rooting for Ohio State, but it sure as hell beats rooting for an SEC team to beat a Big 10 team. GO BUCKEYES I agree....it's tough to root for LSU, but I have to pull for the conference.
  7. Link. Yes, this is disappointing. Muschamp would have been the highest paid coordinator in the SEC next season if he had stayed at Auburn. Texas does receive more exposure, so I assume he believes this will make getting a big time head coaching job easier.
  8. Goony, Is the first picture a bowl of pho? I was introduced to the vietnamese soup a few years ago..very tasty.
  9. http://www.smh.com.au/ffximage/2005/03/07/wagyu_wideweb__430x287.jpg Now this is rare...and check out the marbeling...beautiful, tender, delicious Wagyu.
  10. West Viginia's defense has been huge....Do they bring enough pieces back to contend next season?
  11. I'm guessing the Sooners win by 10 tonight.
  12. Georgia will be a preseason top 5...guarantee it.
  13. hooray for Georgia helping me get my "house" back after that stupid Florida State - Kentucky game...
  14. Kodi Burns scored both passing and running touchdowns for Auburn last night, and the freshman probably should have been used more this year in tandem with Brandon Cox. Next year's early season matchup with West Virginia will feature two extremely mobile quarterbacks if Pat White returns for WV.
  15. would be great if wildcats scored again here...
  16. nice turnover
  17. It almost seems like a trap, but I've put the house on this one....figuratively speaking. Seriously, I wouldn't even take FSU and the points if they didn't have any players suspended. I put $50 originally, but the more I think about it the easier $ it seems. I'm putting another $150 on it. 7-love Kentucky
  18. They're GIVING 7 1/2? Kentucky - 7 1/2 Yeah, brainfart on my part. I like Auburn with the moneyline, Oregon +6, the under on 68.5 for GA/HI coupled with GA -7.5 the under on 58 for WI/TN, over on 59 for TX Tech/VA, over on 49.5 for USC/UI, and Va Tech (-3.5) I think Auburn may struggle against Clemson. Clemson has a qb that may be able to take advantage of Auburn's secondary....specially if Auburn is focused on stopping the run...Also from what I'm hearing, Auburn is likely to begin using the new offensive coordinator's spread offense...and Auburn's backup freshman QB, Kodi Burns, may get considerable playing time in that offense.

  20. So who does everyone like in the early game today? Air Force or Cal -4.5?
  21. maryland is a 5 point dog me thinks, but they will beat oregon state tonight straight up......
  22. sure, it's not mutually exclusive. but there is a reason Alabama and Auburn fans are so nuts about their schools. Generally speaking, the Alabama and Auburn fans that are maniacal, unreasonable didn't attend either school nor any university for that matter. Is Alabama the only state in which that occurs? Ohio State - Michigan is a huge rivalry. There aren't uneducated people in that portion of the nation that speak confidently yet inaccurately about their programs?
  23. In which of these games do you believe the Big Ten is going to pull off the upset? It's interesting to me that you make excuses and accuse Meph of making excuses in the same post. Newsflash for you OSU is the number 1 rated team. Yes, thanks for commenting on the price of tea in China. The spread, however, is LSU -4. So sorry I didn't bow down to what is the SEC conference. Remember your the one who said the big ten was going to lose all 3 games. Good luck with that. I think you're putting a lot of words in my fingers.
  24. As far as I know, none of the SEC football fans on this board have stated the SEC is perennially superior. Personally, I've stated that I believe the SEC has been the strongest conference for the past two years. Should one be characterized as being maniacal for saying this? I deem it to be a fair evaluation. Derwood, I'm not confident that your theory holds water. There are a tremendous amount of Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, and LSU fans that are crazy about college football...yet they still are fans of their state's respective NFL teams.
