  1. don't worry guys. Auburn is going to lose plenty of games this year. The run d was sickening but maybe that should be expected with four sophomores starting on the dline. I was impressed with the utah st. freshman qb.....very mobile and threw accurately. They ran a lot of misdirection and au was very conservative with blitzing for most of the game. im not expecting a lot from a team this young other than to get better every week. And yeah...those georgia uniforms are ugly. this could be richt's last season
  2. I didn't realize the Big 12 was an academic powerhouse.
  3. check out the NCAA's official statement regarding Danny Sheridan. http://www.ncaa.org/wps/wcm/connect/public/ncaa/resources/latest+news/2011/august/ncaa+statement+on+danny+sheridan+comments
  4. Auburn has a lot of young talent, but they will start the season with very little experience. I'm not betting the house on the over.
  5. Keeping Pena on the team and 'happy' for the remainder of this season doesn't preclude us from signing Pujols or Fielder, I guess.....However, if I were Danny Sheridan's corpse, I'd put the odds of having Pena at first base next season pretty high.
  6. This would make me happy but uneasy about who the replacement will be.
  7. Who is suprised that Sheridan went on Finebaum and then said he wouldn't name names? I'm not listening myself, but I'm reading a recap of the events. Finebaum is acting like he is pissed, evidently, but I wouldn't be surprised if he knew what was going to happen. Sheridan received a butt-ton of hits on his website, and everyone and their mother tuned in for Finebaum's show today. Win-win. Do you know how many times I've been told that proof that an Auburn booster paid Cecil would be released since last October or November or whenever the hell this went down originally? Charles Robinson at Yahoo did mention on a radio show yesterday that he had a couple of additional stories about major programs coming out later this summer, however. That's the guy I fear.
  8. Danny Sheridan's 'source' is inside the NCAA, so anything he mentions won't be new to the NCAA. Also, why would Sheridan choose the Finebaum show to announce whatever info he has? Finebaum's show is akin to a Jerry Springer production. edit - here is Sheridan's tweet from earlier in the week. "I've been told the name of the person the NCAA feels allegedly paid Cecil Newton & where witness is. more when on @finebaum this week." feels allegedly
  9. What was this "Yahoo 10" stuff? No way though. It's still Miami and this is [expletive] huge. This is the most thorough and detailed investigation to nail a program since SMU. Basically Yahoo has been pimping a huge story for most of the summer, been thinking it would have been a program more relavant today the way its been hyped up (LSU, Bama, and Auburn were three of the programs thought to be at risk). But yeah its a damn thorough story. Miami might have to take another season off. Charles Robinson is very thorough in his work....he usually brings the goods when he writes a story about your school. I'd definitely call this story a 10, but until the NCAA advises that the AU investigation is over, I'll still be looking over my shoulder.
  10. Former Miami staff members who work for other teams and the NCAA presently are also implicated.
  11. I don't think today's announcement really means anything. It seems more like a "we're interested and aTm's interested, now everyone needs to get their legal ducks in a row to make this actually happen." Somebody gets it. If this is going to happen, the SEC needs to find another team to join the league along with Texas A&M. Florida State certainly would have fit that bill, but the Seminoles have no real motivation to make the move. If there is still no deal by October 1, then that Arkansas-Texas A&M matchup becomes a little more heated I think.
  12. seriously, the guy should be able to afford a revolving entourage of 'strange' if that is what makes his motor run.
  13. I'd think that Beliveau should be first in line. He just has a $7.5 mil waste of space in front of him. fair enough....Beliveau has been more dominant than Dolis. They both may be viable bullpen options at this point....need to see what they can do.
  14. so..when does Dolis sniff the majors?
  15. Dolis appears to be back on track after a rough stretch.
  16. assume you are referring to Danny Sheridan? Listen to the audio for yourself if you haven't. He was on 4 radio shows yesterday promoting himself. He doesn't mention any damning evidence. http://podcasting.fia.net/6960/4816216.mp3
  17. Reggie who?
  18. http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2011/07/auburns_gene_chizik_ncaa_has_o.html Chizik didn't say anything particularly interesting. He's maintaining that Auburn is in the clear and will continue to do so unless the NCAA sends AU an offical letter of inquiry.
  19. Let's note that Sheridan is a Bama grad speaking on the Paul Finebaum show. Sheridan is credible in my eyes, but I'm not sure there is a whole lot of new info here. Sheridan indicated that the investigation could end in 3 to 6 months if the NCAA isn't able to obtain evidence.
  20. For Chizik to stir the pot, I have to think he believes AU has their bases covered with respect to the Cam investigation.
  21. you are referencing the chuck oliver tweet. chuck attended Auburn, but that doesn't necessarily mean it isn't about Auburn. LSU fans are worried about a Will Lyles connection. I'm not sure what this one will be about.
  22. ...not much time for Wilson to gel with teammates, but is Wisconsin now the Big Ten favorite?
  23. wow, what happened to Dolis? When he has a bad night, it usually means he walked some batters, but he walked none last night. I still have hope that this guy is going to be a quality major league reliever.
  24. dammit...we can't even hold our ground in the fecal league standings.
  25. less than 90 days away from the LSU - Oregon game...should be an interesting matchup.
