  1. I saw him in Daytona in 2003. Scott Kazmir pitched for the St. Lucie Mets and David Wright manned the hot corner. Our best current prospects were Soto and Hoffpauir. I like him. If I were GM he would definitely be the backup backstop.
  2. What about the portion that the bullpen controls?
  3. It wouldn't be your job as GM to decide where Lee hits. That's the managers job. Who is the manager's boss again?
  4. Who was the great big man on all those Bulls teams? What about the Pistons, both the 90's version and today's version? I don't know much about basketball, but it seems pretty foolish to include the team with the best player of all time in forming your argument.
  5. Maybe Mike North should look up the career splits of AJP and Toby Hall before criticizing the decision.
  6. If he goes back into the draft where would he likely be selected? Late first round/supplemental round?
  7. I want Matt Latos to sign with the Padres, for the sake of a deep simulation league I am in. Any word on him?
  8. WTF? Ortiz had some injury problems in Minny, but he was pretty darn good when he played. IIRC, the Twinkie fans were pretty upset when he left. Non-descript? not Boston or New York = nondescript
  9. Did Chris Valaika play shortstop?
  10. I still want Wieters, but only if he will stick at catcher, which it sounds like he can. If he has to move I would prefer Vitters. Anywhere to see some scouting vids of the draft prospects?
  11. I think Dave Bush has the peripherals to be a sub 3 ERA pitcher.
  12. I think you are drastically under-rating Bush when you say he is on the same level as Vargas and Villanueva. Even though his ERA is pretty ugly so far this year, I really think he is a better pitcher than Suppan or Capuano. He walks so few batters, he strikes out quite a bit, and he doesn't allow that many long balls. I would be willing to bet that he has a fairly high BABIP against, and he should be fine as that regresses to the mean. Do you think Brad Nelson could at least be a serviceable replacement for Prince? Or if you want to get real creative I bet Hall, Jenkins or Mench could handle it and then a spot would open up for Gross in the outfield. Or possibly Braun if they insist on having Counsell and Graffanino platoon at third.
  13. Between Carlos Villanueva, Yovani Gallardo, Zach Jackson and possibly Manny Parra, they have plenty of guys who could fill in at least decently if a starter goes down. There is absolutely no reason why Ryan Braun of the 1.142 ops should not be starting at third every day for this team.
  14. Nobody thinks the most interesting information is the fact that he didn't throw with his left arm until he was 6? I don't like how the author says Ted Lilly has "been decent". Sure his record is 2-2 but his ERA is still under three, he has been strikeout out a ton of batters, and he is not walking people or allowing many base hits.
  15. I think you are thinking of Von Joshua perhaps, and no we did not give him a job on the major league coaching staff. Gerald Perry is our hitting coach. He previously served the role with the A's, the Pirates and the Mariners.
  16. I have loved Hardy for the last couple years and I have no way to prove it. I think it's in large part due to his dreamy blue eyes and his rugged yet gentle sexiness.
  17. I'm predicting a Steve Nebraska line of 9 ip, 0 hits, 0 walks, 27 strikeouts, 81 pitches. The last pitch will knock Michael Barrett to the backstop.
  18. I asked a question to try and get him to explain that we should not be against drafting Vitters just because Ryan Harvey and Luis Montanez have sucked. Mainly for Vinestal.
  19. Lincecum is going to start for the giants on Sunday, meaning we all get to watch his major league debut on ESPN. I am super excited to say the least.
  20. Hey brewers fan, quick question. Why isn't Sheets K'ing anyone?
  21. In a deep Keeper league I traded him for Braun and Hochevar. Should I regret that?
  22. The three years prior to this year, Zambrano's K/9 increased every year, while his ERA also increased every year. Don't really know what this means, I'm just saying...
  23. I am almost to the point where I am sold on Vitters. He sounds like a very atypical high school hitter (ie. polished, a baseball player first and foremost, not an athlete) I would still prefer Wieters, but if we were to take Vitters, I don't think I would be too upset.
