  1. I voted Meph for his draft contributions.
  2. Chris Robinson currently hitting like crap in AA.
  3. I think run expectancy charts are from the situation forward. So whatever happens prior to loading the bases doesn't really matter. I could be wrong though.
  4. Barrett is currently on pace for 26 homers and the last three years he has put up ops' of 826/824/885. His contract is up at the end of the year, therefore there is no long term commitment. If the cubs choose to put him on the market they would be able to move him easily, and most likely get something decent in return.
  5. Wow, they must have wanted to fast-track him to be our 6th OF this year. Thanks for the info. So all we really have available in the farm is Soto? If that's the case then nice 1st pick this year in the draft, Slim Jim. I think its more about Fox being terrible behind the plate. Josh Donaldson was the second pick and he doesn't sound too bad, although Wieters would have been real nice.
  6. Not sure if I'm on board with a fire sale but I think we should trade Barrett if we can find a good deal. He has value and I'm not really interested in signing him to an extension. I don't really want a full scale fire sale. The core of Lee, Ramirez, Soriano, Pie, Hill should be kept in tact and obviously guys like Lilly, DeRosa, Marquis etc can't really be traded, but I want to get good young talent for guys like Barrett and Zambrano, who are free agents after the year.
  7. Don't let Truffle see this thread.
  8. Yeah, I don't want to trade him because he can't play D or because he is a hot head. I want to trade him because this is a lost year, I don't want to sign him to an extension, and he still has some value. I just wish I could trust our GM to target the right kind of players in a fire sale.
  9. At least its a beautiful stadium they have.
  10. I would not mind trading Barrett at some point before the deadline. He should still be worth something decent, right?
  11. How did he manage to have such a great career so quietly? He is a lock for the hall, but I just don't get a first ballot feeling with him.
  12. You're missing out on Chase Headley though.
  13. What kind of stuff does he have?
  14. Totally agree. Tell me, IF A-Rod opts out - isn't he losing $27 mil a year? He'd really be an idiot to do that. I agree for the most part, but he already has a ton of money, and he would still get a huge contract, so maybe getting out of such a critical environment would be worth it to him.
  15. The latter. He has replaced Samardsija in Daytona's rotation. Good, I didn't like that they moved him into a bullpen role.
  16. It was a tough vote, but I had to go with UK I love J-Shils' signatures though. He inspired me to buy Pet Sounds.
  17. I'm with Goony, I want to go big (ARod) or go cheap. A mediocre, expensive vet like Eckstein doesn't do much to improve the team.
  18. What is the reason for Reinhard's demotion and insertion into the Daytona rotation? Was their an injury or are they just trying to get him starting again?
  19. Your avatar just won you my vote, whenever your poll is up.
  20. I can't vote for a Laker's fan.
  21. I am of the opposite mind-set. I think this one is going to be split between ND fans/haters.
  22. You got one more vote Derwood. Don't feel too special though, it's more because I couldn't recall NewUserName.
  23. I guess what I was going for, is that the numbers are not dissimilar enough to the point where Mitch Atkins should barely crack a weaker organization's top thirty. Obviously McGee is one of the top pitching prospects in all of baseball right now, and Atkins is nowhere near that level, it's just that he doesn't get much respect from BA, considering the numbers he has put up, and at least above average stuff(as far as I can tell).
  24. http://www.baseballamerica.com/online/college/features/263604.html Just found this article (subscription only) from earlier this year. Doesn't say much, but tells the story of how the Cal State Fullerton Coach got Clark to commit by beating him in a game of ping pong.
