  1. Watching 8 different women give birth to his children.... And I love Scottie, BTW.
  2. Pretty sure I said this another thread, but I'd try to get Dunn at 3 yr's, mutual option for fourth, at 12 mill for the first three years and 15 mill for the option/fourth. Don't know if Dunn would risk a non-guaranteed 4th yr though.
  3. Peterman's going to get an injury settlement and be released. LaFevor seems destined for the practice squad or outright release. Guitierrez - who I liked when he was briefly at Michigan - also won't be around. I am guessing Cutler-Hanie-Collins.
  4. Fair point. Let's just stick to the interviews and leave the HOF speech out of it then. I love Ryno enough that don't want him to manage a team where Jim Hendry provides the players.
  5. WHY Hanie must be in bad shape or they plan to release La-Fla-Fla.
  6. This. (see username) And BTW, I think using his HOF speech as evidence of his philosophies on managing is pretty worthless. Its an HOF speech (by definition full of self-agrandizing, politically correct fluff), not a job interview.
  7. Much as I love A-Ram, I want him to opt out and move on simply because I hope it would force the Cubs to tear this thing down and rebuild it.
  8. Feel bad for Lou on this one since this is likely the end. I hope he's at least able to enjoy his retirement. He had a good couple of years and certainly wasn't anywhere near as bad as the last guy.
  9. Now if we were able to off-load half his contract and get a couple of prospects from the BoSox, that would be something.
  10. I'd go after Lee and Dunn, trade Fukudome and Zambrano (for Carlos Beltran?), use Colvin as my 4th OF'er and cross my fingers.
  11. I never have thought Scottie is ugly. Unusual, yes. But not ugly. Sam Cassel? Absolutely. BTW, Sully, the pic you have up is of the aptly named "Popeye" Jones: http://www.nba.com/playerfile/images/popeye_jones.jpg Here is Tyronne Hill, and the view isn't any better: http://thesportshernia.typepad.com/blog/images/2007/05/09/tyrone_hill_ladies_man.jpg
  12. This guy is an ass.
  13. Hawks have an awful lot of bandwagon fans at the moment. Yup. Sadly all they have to do is look at a list of starting goalies on SC winning teams for the last twenty years to relaize that losing Niemi isn't going to be anywhere near as important as they think.
  14. Sounds like Law is just down on DeWitt in the same way Dodgers fans are/were. I think their expectations may have been too high. He never projected as Chase Utley, did he?
  15. This wasn't a bad deadline. In the last 24 hours, Roy Oswalt, Lance Berkman, Ted Lilly, and others were traded. In 2005, the big deadline move in MLB was our acquisition of Matt Lawton. Kyle Farnsworth and Ron Villone were the others of note that were traded. On a side note, whats the over/under on average attendance for the remainder of the season for the Astros? Much as I hate that team, I feel bad for their fans. Brutal.
  16. I hope this means that Fontenot is going to be traded as well. We might as well clear out the redundancy and the veterans whose ceilings have been met and wh won't be under team control much longer (if at all). Trading Theriot was a good start. Since DeWitt is a natural 3B, is there any concern that he could be thought of as a backfill for ARam?
  17. No thanks: http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/player.cgi?id=strang001dev
  18. John Elly: http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/player.cgi?id=ely---002joh
  19. GIS for "Ron Ely": http://chud.com/articles/content_images/123/Ron%20Ely.jpg
  20. This. I dunno, DeWitt is only 24 and coming off an injury last season, right? Couldn't he develop a bit of pop (10 HR's a year or so) and be a solid starting 2B with an .800 OPS for 3 or 4 years?
  21. Jorge Cantu, Ty Wigginton, Brad Hawpe and Michael Cuddyer can also play first. Dunn please. 3 yr's, $35-40 mill, mutual option for a fourth. EDIT: If we insist on going "cheap", I 'd consider Cuddyer for 2 yr's at 5 million per year.
  22. It might help to actually show what you're talking about. We aren't ready/listening along with you. Im sure hes talking about the quotes from TMac posted earlier in the thread. TMac had the audacity to say if he signed with the Bulls he would have to come to camp and prove hes a starter, can you believe that jerk? Man what a prick he is huh.......... Yeah, I don't get why having the drive to prove oneself is a negative. The guy was a susperstar of arguably the highest order. He's 18 months out from microfracture surgery. He's been relegated to (likely) less than even the MLE on a team's roster. So he's got a chip on his shoulder. I like that. Keep in mind Coach T had him in Houston for three years. If he is as much of a jackass as people are saying, I seriously doubt that Boy Scout Pax, GarFor and Coach T would be considering him.
  23. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2010/07/macphail-no-young-player-is-untouchable.html Zambrano and cash for Markakis. :good: :)
  24. I forgot that Wade will be pretty old (in NBA terms) pretty soon.
