    I like the profile on this Muno kid. Good plate discipline as a start. Maybe he fills out and becomes a nice utility IF'er or even a surprisingly productive 2B/SS in the Placido Polanco mold?

    I read Calipari's name as a candidate in today's Sun Times. if there is a God in Heaven that won't happen. I just don't see a coach out there that I would be interested in, other than Phil of course, but that's not realistic, IMO. In fact, I can't recall a time where there was such a glaring lack of good, young coaches. I guess Brooks in OKC qualifies, but other than that I can't think of any who seem to really be on the ball. Seems like talent is more important than ever in the modern NBA.

    I'd be thrilled to be in the Finals for the first time in nearly 20 years. I think they'd beat the Caps, but the Pens frighten me.

    No kidding. Dempster has actually earned his money. If you want to attack bloated contracts you have several other targets that make a lot more sense.

    The Preds have come-on in a huge way the last 4 weeks. They scare me a bit, though in a 7 game series I think the Hawks are better. Wouldn't shock me if the Hawks played em' in the Conference Finals.

    Common sense says Silva is in the rotation. How do you figure? Common sense says anybody with Silva's stats doesn't immediately get a spot in the rotation. No way Piniella is that dumb to give him a spot without battling for one. So $15 mill (counting the alleged $9 mill savings) over two years for a middle reliever? I'm betting Rothschild thinks he identified a problem with his mechanics or something. Rothschild is like Jeff Spicoli in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High":

    Surprise AL teams? How about (and I'm not endorsing ANY of the below): - A's: Beane is a frequent trading partner. - Angels: In exchange for GM Jr. and prospects. - Orioles: I have no idea why or who we'd get in return.

    Not sure about some of the guys the Yanks gave up, but Granderson isn't so wonderful that they should give up too much. They could be disappointed.

    If we are signinig Cameron, then who are we getting for Bradley and where will that player fit-in? Does Burrell become the 4th OF'er?

    I actually like this trade, but you guys are right, the dumb Grabow deal makes it feel crapier.

    Somoene needs to tie Hendry's hands behind his back. This is getting ridiculous. I don't have a problem bring Grabow back, but for cripes sake give 2 years at $2 mill per at most, or tell him to test the market.

    The more I look at Granderson the less I like the idea of trading anyone in our top-tier (Vitters, Cashner, Castro, Jackson, etc.) in order to get him. I am not opposed to trading those players, but if we do we ought to be getting someone back who produces at a superstar level.
