  1. Stauskus is much better than Jimmer, more athletic and 4-5 inches taller. Probably nearly as good a shooter You are probably right, but Harris and Vonleh were there. Don't disagree that Harris was a better option, just that Staukus-Jimmer comp isn't right. I think they should have gone Elfrid Payton, personally. I agree. Or take Vonleh and trade him for a guard.

  3. Hey look - the Kings just drafted a taller Fredette. Why not take Harris there? At least he can defend. Kings are very poorly run franchise.
  4. I think Randle could end up being a steal for the Lakers at 7. He's Zach Randolph with a pulse.
  5. Totally agree. Great pick. At worst they have the best front line the league in 2-3 years. no, at worst Embiid becomes Greg Oden and Nerlens Noel doesn't develop an offensive game and ends up being Omer Asik with good hands (who would be a good player, but not part of the best front line in the league) Embiid is a much better player than Oden. Much better athlete and far more polished game. Oden had/has no jumper or moves around the basket. He was pure power. Noel is a far better athlete than Asik. His ceiling is Tyson Chandler and his floor Tyrus Thomas. Your comparisons make no sense.
  6. Wow, Orlando. I guess they don't have much up front...they must think he is a Blake 2.0.

  8. Cap increase or not, I don't see how you pay two players an AAV of $10 mill without divesting yourself of Hossa, Sharp, Seabs, are some combination thereof.
  9. Dreaded vote of confidence Only applies to coaches.
  10. Maybe Larkin is with the Knicks when the season begins, but I'd guess that would be it.
  11. Clearing cap space for Melo. Nice pick-up for the Pelicans. Asik can take some pressure off Davis. If they had any shooters whatsoever they'd be a good team.
  12. The Bulls do seem to be everyone's go-to team to leverage more money out of "desirable" destinations like NY, Miami, and LA.
  13. I agree with the guys at C.I. that Sharp alone doesn't make that much sense for Vancouver. The notion that he isn't really a loyal family man doesn't surprise me; the altercation in the locker room does; I agree he played poorly in the playoffs and did little to nothing defensively, but that could be said about other forwards on the team as well (I spent half the playoffs screaming for back-checking).
  14. I love the scenario a couple of lines above where we get Afflalo and Melo without giving up our picks this year. You draft Ennis and Paine and add a couple of vets and that team is damn good. EDIT: if by some miracle McDermott falls to 16 you grab him then Ennis or Paine.
  15. Yeah, I think they'd be asking for Saad to start. Sure. Every team that the Hawks talk to starts with Saad. But then the conversation moves to players that are actually available. The point is that Kesler has taken away the Nucks' leverage so they either have to take what the Hawks offer or hang on to a player that wants out. Doing the latter isn't nearly as onerous enough to force them to take terrible value. This reminds me of all the post-2010 talk when people were making horrible trade proposals because "The Blackhawks are in cap hell, they have no leverage!" Yeah, the 'Nucks don't have to trade Kesler. He's under contract. If the offers are Bickell and picks and Bennett and picks (for example) they can tell Kesler to start thinking about other destinations. I bet the Islanders would jump at him, for example, and they have some young talent in the minors and potentially high draft picks to offer.
  16. This was posted in another thread, but if Wade opts out it has to mean that LeBron (and probably Bosh) are planning to stay. He won't get anything near $40 mill over two years on the open market; he's going to be 34 with a bad knee, lots of mileage, and plenty of recent evidence that he is starting to wear down. If he opts out he is effectively restructuring to help them to get more talent.
  17. Wade will be 34 next season. Based on the playoffs it looks like the mileage has finally caught up with him.
  18. You need more than just LeBron taking less to make that work. if we hear that bosh and wade are opting out, that's bad news. Yup
  19. Pipe dream my friend. I don't see Utah doing that deal. With Embid likely to fall they are better off waiting, IMHO. EDIT: I'm not seeing any way LeBron isn't back in Miami.
  20. The only thing I wonder about in terms of punt yardage vs. return yardage comparisons is positioning. In other words, does it make a difference (or should it?) in terms of where you punt from?
  21. Kal Daniels from the same era.

  23. Not sure if he's the worst Cub ever, but he probably is the worst player in baseball.
  24. Yeah, I think they'd be asking for Saad to start.
