  1. They'd be nuts to bring back Hinrich. He is literally one of the worst players in the NBA at this point. He's put up twin 10.8 PER's since he returned to Chicago.
  2. Mirotic is at minimum a 15 min a game guy who spreads the floor and handles the ball.
  3. I don't think I they refuse to get a scoring wing. they just refuse to pay big dollars for crappy or mediocre scoring wings. That's how you find yourself in cap hell . Ask the Knicks, Nets, Pistons, Bucks, Lakers, Pistons, Kings, etc how that goes.
  4. If they get Stephenson then: Rose Stephenson Butler Gibson Noah Gasol (assuming reports are correct) McDermott Snell Etc. (I'm assuming MDG is dealt in this scenario) No one will score against us, to be sure. If they can add Mirotoc to that they might be the Spurs east.
  5. I just don't see the point given how well Taj played last year and Mirotic coming over. You could argue that PF was the position we least needed to add to. We also have Greg Smith who was injured last year but potentially a solid backup and Anthony Randolph who sucks but is on the books for 1.8 mil. Neither are anywhere as good as Gasol but again they are guaranteed contracts that are unlikely to be traded and on the roster next year. Maybe Miritic doesn't get signed but what else does he do, sit out the season, as it looks like the bridge to Real Madrid has been burned. They have no one over 6" tall who can get his own shot. Pau can.
  6. The glory of Bill Mueller. Seriously, between Bosio and Mueller we have our own magic pixie dust.
  7. He has an entirely different skill set from boozer and is a better compliment to Rose and Melo. He has an outside game, is a better passer and shot blocker, and is still a decent enough rebounder (Boozer is a bit better overall). Boozer PER's over last 4 seasons: 18.0, 19.7, 17.1, 14.4 Gasol: 23.3, 20.4, 16.7 (injured all but 30 games), 19.3 Boozer TS%: .542, .549. .510, .489 Gasol: .589, .547, .512, .522 Boozer TRB%: 17.6, 16.1, 17.4, 16.8 Gasol: 15.6, 15.6, 14.0, 16.4 Boozer Block%: .7, .9, .8, .8 Gasol: 3.3, 2.6, 2.7, 3.5 Gasol is better, significantly so in several categories. Moreover, he is clearly not declining as fast as Boozer and therefore can be easily traded next offseason due to his expiring contract (reports are that he is getting a two year deal).
  8. Chris Coghlan over the last 28 days (85 PA's): .307/.369/.533 BAbip: .345
  9. I could see Dallas grabbing him. Maybe the Clippers find a way.
  10. I honestly don't think I can root for Wade. I had no problem rooting for Rodman because he was a pain in the ass on the court and a weirdo off of it, but he never struck me as a bad guy. I think Wade is a bad guy.
  11. I have to think this makes Melo far more likely to pick Chicago. He has no shot at beating Cleveland if he stays in NY. And I hope Riley and Wade burn in hell.
  12. And when you look at that list it makes you realize what an incredible risk it is to give a pitcher a 4 or 5 year contract for big money. The Shark deal makes even more sense in that context.
  13. Kershaw Felix Jered Weaver Verlander Hamels Lester Buehrle Sabathia Greinke Cain But yeah, it's...pretty bleak Didn't Weaver have TJS at some point? Or was there a stretch where he seemed to be nicked-up all the time?
  14. Seriously, can we identify more 5 or more active pitchers who have had 5 or more seasons of 115 or better ERA+ and not had major reconstructive arm surgery at some point? EDIT I may be wrong, but I think these guys qualify: Grienke Kershaw Buehrle Lester (including this season's 150 ERA+) Sabathia
  15. He needs to work on his CF defense Something about the snippet you took from Raw's post reminds me of Michael Cera in "This Is the End".
  16. http://24.media.tumblr.com/a0755cfe432dcec7236c561ad15522fa/tumblr_mp3vqfIWn31rt8levo2_r2_500.gif
  17. Breaking: Amare, Kirilenko, and Wade are rumored to be working in concert to join the Garnett, Deron Williams, Joe Johnson and the rest of the Nets to form the ultimate aged, injured, overrated, and overpaid team.
  18. Exactly. You guys don't seem to understand that if the Yankees do it, whatever "it" is by definition is good. Francessa knows this. You know, like signing Carlos Beltran: .216/.271/.401 .671 Or Brian McCann: .230/.289/.379 .668 Or throwing money at a dozen IFA's as though they were "makin' it rain" at a strip club. 'Cause, you know, quantity over quality every day.
  19. No point in that move unless LeBron and company are coming back.
  20. Stephen A Smith just a sec ago: Blah blah blah....if Bosh goes to Houston, Melo might go to Miami....blah, blah, blah....
  21. This is all so stupid.
  22. Joe Buck is critical of the Cubs? http://timsfilmreviews.files.wordpress.com/2013/09/batman-reaction-anchorman.gif
  23. You'd have to be very stupid indeed to identify by name the firm that is the source of your info. He could have just said, "Very well connected / major firm." Fact that he named Seyfarth tells me its bull.
  24. I don't find getting blue balls to be fun, but to each his own.
