Thought of Penny shortly after I posted and agree. Its on that level.

Just woke up to this on Deadspin and thought for sure it was some sort of hyper-trolling. This is beyond anything I can recall. Danny Manning and Grant Hill maybe? Though you could easily argue that Derrick at his best was better than Hill. No question he was better than Manning.

Mine was more of an observation, less a complaint.

Its definitely less of a hard core crowd than it was 5 years ago. It used to be deafening during the intros and whenever any sort of anything happened on the ice. The chatter was always about the ins and outs of the game. The women behind me on Sunday were talking about the latest in friends and family gossip.

Screw that. We are playing on a different level now.

- Yes, the rumor was that Sharp has been behaving badly with someone, though I don't recall anyone saying it was a Ryno-Palmeiro type situation. Usually there's at least some truth to this sort of thing, and given the pains the Hawks PR dep't. has taken to portray Sharp as a family man...well methinks they doth protest too much. - Personal stuff aside, Sharp has been very unlucky this season and I thought he played well against Boston yesterday. I was at the game and watched him make several solid checks and fight for the puck in the corner, which is supposed to be Shaw's game...leading me to my next point... - Shaw has been awful. I agree he will be traded during the offseason. - The Darling contract was bizarre at first blush, but I view it as a compliment to Ranta inasmuch as it means Stan is getting calls on him and he has real trade value. - I don't hate the Leddy trade, but we are SO slow on the blue line that its almost embarrassing. - I do and did hate the Roszival contract. He is the worst full-time player the Hawks have had in years. I watched him give up two of the first three goals yesterday. Yet his TOI seemed to be steady if not increasing as the game wore on. Makes me wonder if Seabrook is hurt or something. - The UC was half as loud as normal during the intro yesterday (partially because the new current-team animation and music both suck). Its a bad sign when the fans can sense that you don't give a [expletive].

Kevin White's ascent could make it much easier for the Bears to find a trade partner. No. 7 increases in value if either the or Cooper fall that far.

Cubs acquire Cole Hamels about a month before the deadline, and he pitches like Sutcliffe in 84'. The Cubs roll to a division title after taking three-straight from the Cards from 9/18-9/20. On a related note, Kyle parades around his living room in his boxers screaming, "I told you so!" at no one in particular.

Just a thought: is there any chance whatsoever that they'd ask Cutler to restructure his deal and kick some of that money down the line? I realize the answer is probably no...just hoping I am missing something.
