  1. Cool - thanks for letting me know about the sell-outs and Mr. Stubbs.
  2. The offense was fine in 2004, IIRC. It was better than the "O" in 03'. If this team hits with any consistency whatsoever they ought to run away with this horrendous division by late-August. Of course, it would be helpful to cut some of the dead weight (Ronny and Jacque) and play guys like Theriot and Murt more, plus it would be nice if Alfonso were both healthy and hitting as he normally does. Just get into the playoffs and anything can happen.
  3. I am going to be in Dayton next week for business and am planing to go to a Dragons game on Tuesday night. I see from the team's website that they are pretty good (off to an 8-0 start) and have former ML utlity OFer Darren Bragg as their hitting coach. I know a few of you are from Dayton or currently live there. Who are their hot prospects? Its hard to tell from the team stats this early in the season. Thanks!
  4. He's only 20. Let's hope he can get it together. Hill was what, 26 before the lightbulb went on?
  5. Hard to disagree. He looks lost at the plate so far.
  6. Then it's doable... It is. But teams may view Ohman as a valuable commodity and put in a claim for him. The Score is saying the DL is an option. They can invent some injury for him. OR, he's been injured all along. Ah...I remember when Remlinger suddenly caught his finger in the chair when a roster spot was needed. Maybe Ohman stubbed his toe or something. But if you do that you can't trade him. I'd bet they are trying to deal him off somewhere.
  7. Planet Hendry. At least try and know the facts first before you make sarcastic comments.
  8. Yay. My day just got WAY better. Dance yellow man, DANCE \:D/ Good thing you put a emoticon in that post.
  9. Yuck on the leadoff choice. Oh well - can't have everything. In any case, I really think this means that Jacque is back on the mkt. Lou doesn't suffer fools - Ohman is gone, Jones is next. I would LOVE this OF: Pie CF Fonz LF Murt RF
  10. Yes. Pie has a hot bat right now and needs as much playing time as possible. If Soriano goes on the 15 day DL, Pie better be playing in CF in as many of those games as humanly possible. His development is almost at a point where he can only continue to improve if he faces major league pitching. If its true that Felix is here to stay, then I think it also means that jacque's days are numbered. That's what I call a "win-win". And if you think Lou won't cut bait with a vet, look what's happening to Bad Ohman.
  11. I think it was Jon Stewart who had Shatner on his show and said "Just hold me, Bill", and he jumped into Shatner's lap. This hyper-critical and unfounded crticism, IMO. Its not the worst thread ever.
  12. Bingo. I wouldn't risk throwing fonz back into the fray with that sort of injury. We have managed to score some runs without ARam and with Soriano playing like junk. How much worse could Felix be? I see only upside to bringing him up - especially if it means that Jacque becomes expendable.
  13. This is good news. I guess thing I feel best about is that we have managed to score some without ARam and with Soriano looking like Jacque Jones' twin brother. Theriot and Murton for MVP!
  14. I don't think many of our remaining starters sans Miller have much of an injury history. That said, I think he has more value with us than he would on the trade mkt - what would we get for him? A single A prospect?
  15. They should ban all automatic and semi-automatic weapons in honor of the victims.
  16. Soriano should be moved out of the leadoff role regardless of what's going on with Ramirez. And he never should have been there in teh first place. Trade Cesar, put Theriot at SS and let him leadoff.
  17. I played with the scenario generator on ESPN this weekend. Its very likely based on current won-loss records that the Knicks' pick (now belonging to the Bulls) will amount to the 6th on the high end and the 9th on the low end. I didn't get even one scenario where the Bulls had anything higher than 5. They have almost no chance of getting one of the top three picks.
  18. It should be noted Murton lined out after a good AB in which he worked the count. He still is up there with DLee and Aram in having good ABs, and he tagged the ball right at Freel. It happens sometimes, but still a good, solid AB. Hopefully he'll average more than 0.9 PA/game next week. Somehow, I doubt it. Based on Lou's postgame comments I think you are wrong. I know I have said this a dozen times this week, but Lou is not Dusty.
  19. That's a bit of an overreaction. Sheesh.
  20. Not a nice thing to say about the Reds, especially since you live near there.
  21. I'd think that Floyd would get the ol' Sunday vet's day off at least. Are we facing a lefty when SD comes to town?
  22. Everyone who gets into the playoffs is a WS contender b/c the playoffs are a lucky crapshoot. Ex. A is the defending champs.
