  1. I think we should deal Say-Czar for that Maddox guy. Gary Maddox. http://www.baseball-reference.com/m/maddoga01.shtml
  2. Off the top of my head, a list of teams that could be interested in Cesar: - Red Sox (hey, they got Cabrera in the Nomar deal) - Baltimore - KC - White Sox - Twinkies A couple of these are a strecth. What about the NL?
  3. Yeah, Murton's call-up will occur when they are ready to give him steady playing time. They are looking for a short-term fix here, and a guy like Fox, with his 1B experience, better fits the bill. Plus why use up Murt's options when you know he is headed back down soon? The option was already burned when he went down. It doesn't matter how many times he goes back and forth this year, it's gone. A-ha. Thanks.

  5. Darn it someone put up our Bruce Signal!!!! http://static.flickr.com/40/85543188_9b66b0b896_o.jpg
  6. Except they have 12, so who is the other unused arm? I do agree that he's a complete waste of roster spot if he can't even be used in blowouts. He's gone 3 times in July after just 7 appearances in June. I really wonder what sort of plan they have for him. Hopefully this: http://images.jupiterimages.com/common/detail/26/10/22251026.jpg
  7. No. It's not so much that all those guys are super valuable(except Gallagher, who's the best pitching prospect in the system), but including ALL of them at once is a bit much. Fair enough - that is why I asked. OK, so what about Gallagher and Soto? Does that get it done? Reds want more?
  8. Family site!
  9. It is in my opinion. I think Gallagher is going to be really solid and I'd rather hang on to him. That said, take out Soto or Murton from your deal and I wouldn't be too upset. Petrick is the one of those four that I would be most upset to see go. I actually agree with that. To me he has the most upside and value insomuch as he is a power-armed reliever who is cheap and under our control for several more years. Gallagher projects at best as a 3rd or 4th starter, no? Soto is valuable, but you have to give up valuable commodities in order to obtain them. Dunn is a major upgrade over Murt, IMO. I guess I do not view those guys as untouchable commodities, though I admit I am sqeamish about both Gallagher and Petrick.
  10. Give me a winner and I'll happily live with his antics. Preach it, brother.
  11. ...in yesterday's game. Man its nice to see him at least trying not to wear out our best picthers in games that have already been decided. What a change from what we have seen in the past. I also very much like that he let Gallagher go the rest of the way. Great way to showcase him to potential trade partners and get the kid some experience at the same time. He looked pretty good out there on top of it.
  12. Soto, Murt, Petrick and Gallagher for Dunn? Too much?
  13. And I think the fact she's mentioned at least twice that Bruce can back her up adds credibility as well. It's not her fault if nobody actually takes her up on it and asks Bruce. I think when the Cubs are playing well people need something to be pissy about. Look, I also get why folks might be skeptical, but what they forget is that admins can see IP addresses and snuff people out if they choose. In any case - its just a message bd.
  14. I get that no one wanted Kendall b/c I did not either. But no one knows if he's getting an extension. Its going to depend on how he plays the rest of the season, if history is any guide.
  15. It's already done reverend. I hope to some day be as good a person as you. Wow. Who peed in your Cheerios this morning? Great response, BTW. Is this your new manner of arguing with people who disagree with you? Calling them names? Its a nice goal to have. Good luck.

  17. I didn't come to this thread to preach. And yes, I did read your rant. How is that "slander"? Its only slander if it is not true, and in Mr. Greenstein's case, there would likely need to recklessness or malicious intent b/c he is a public figure. How do you know its not true? You don't. You are thus speculating. And I don't think she is insinuating a thing. Rather, she was simply responding to someone's comment about Mr. Greenstein. Yeah, so what? That somehow makes her a less valuable source? Does Hoops want his identity to be known? He clearly has some pretty good connections whose identities could be compromised if he reveals himself. Couldn't Hoops himself be the source, and he is using the "my sources tell me" stuff to protect himself? All evidence to the contrary. You are evidently pretty hot under the collar. Except people who wish to remain anonymous but claim to have inside info. Rather then railing against her, why don't you just take her posts with a grain of salt?
  18. One could say the same about many here, yourself included. No we can't. Just put me on ignore if you feel the need for superiority. I don't. My point was only that we all speculate on issues 99% of the time. A select few may believe their opinions and personal speculation are fact and incontrovertable, but I think that most understand that its not.

  20. Yep; like in the third inning last night, for example. Oh, wait. To be fair, didn't he kill a rally in the 7th with a DP?
  21. However you want to phrase it. Anyone still want to debate whether the picthers wanted Barrett to be traded?
  22. Its overkill to say Lou is perfect; its overkill to say he stinks. he's good, and personally I had and have no problem with him calling these guys out. They had it way too easy under The Dust Man and need to be held accountable when they play like crap.
