  1. I like that we are seeing the Cubs named in several different places. Just makes life more interesting.
  2. Is McLouth a top prospect? I wouldn't call him one, which is why I didn't list him. But, I'd bet Hendry likes McLouth more than he likes Pie. And it would only be a matter of time before McLouth was grabbing up most of the at bats in CF. I doubt that sincerely. Even Hendry would not do that.
  3. I'd grab McLouth if the asking price were only Cotts.
  4. really? who? By 'syatem" I mean young guys already on the ML level as well as in the minors. Gallagher, Marshall, Marmol, and Hart, to name a few. But my point was really more relative than anything else, i.e., our pitching depth far outweighs our position player depth, IMO, and therefore I'd prefer to trade Hill instead of, for example, Pie.
  5. From Sullivan's article today: Wow, is that a dumb thing to say aloud.
  6. Stark wrote on ESPN.com that one GM thinks Beane will start a firesale if the Halos acquire Miguel Cabrera, thus making them "impossible" to catch.
  7. Yeah, I really cannot believe he said that. Someone should fact check - I am betting it's a joke. BTW, love your sig, Roast.
  8. Isn't the Colesium difficult for lefty power hitters? Swisher's OBP has gone up each of the last three years; his slugging dipped a bit last season. I'd love to have him, and yes, I would do Hill for Swisher straight up. We have a ton more major league-ready pitching in our system than we have position players.
  9. You really stepped outside the box on that one!
  10. I get sick of the Mizzou love around here.
  11. Crasnick of ESPN handicaps the center fielder sweepstakes, including Fukudome: Link
  12. We should have tried to trade marquis to the Mets and signed Wolf to that deal.
  13. Give them whatever they want. Pie, Gallagher, Veal, Hill, Marmol, Colvin...go ahead and pick 4.
  14. O's take it in the posterior with that deal. Sub Pie for Patterson and it might work.
  15. The Mutts might also be a good fit. I'd prefer to trade him to the AL. How about the Blue Jays? The Rangers? Do they have anything we'd be interested in?
  16. This is my number one concern. I don't blame you, but they won a WS one year ago. If they committ to rebuilding this year with an eye towards having money to spend in 08' then he should be a good soldier about it, IMHO. We can make fun of the Izturis deal (and we will!), but its still only a one yr deal. Not like signing Perez to a two yr deal, Jones to a three year deal, etc.
  17. I'd sign him to play in Iowa, but that is about it. He could help if we had injury issues on the ML level.
  18. So now Wade is G-d? He is, at the least, an instrument thereof.
  19. While I agree RFK is cavernous, Shea ain't exactly a hitter's paradise either.
  20. I'd offer Pie and Gallagher for him, but I know that won't do it.
  21. If that. What is the plan in The STL? They look like they are ripe for a tear-down, particularly on the pitching staff. Do they simply prefer to try and luck into the playoffs via Pujols and (when healthy) Carpenter?
  22. I don't understand the value of this trade for the Mets. Someone please help me.
