I'd be fine with AI at the mid-level veteran's exception, but that is it. They should be saving the serious dough for the 2010 FA class. Next season might not be the big step fwd we'd like, but I am willing to wait if it means landing Wade or Johnson and Bosh. EDIT: His PER was just below 16 this past season, but the year before it is was over 20. The whole Detroit team sucked last season and he was a terrible fit there to begin with. We could very much use a SG who can get to the rim, taking the pressure off of Rose in that regrad. Then you can use Hinrich as the 6th man and designated spot-up jump shooter and have the luxury oif bringing Salmons or Deng off the bench. That's a lot of options. AI doesn't replace Gordon in the strictest sense since his game is very different, but one season of him would be fine.
