  1. Biggest problem was stopping the run, they couldn't get off the field, like you, I didn't believe the defense was going to be much improved. If they can just improve on stopping the run, even a little bit, defense may not be a total sieve.
  2. Was thinking along the same lines, I remember looking up recovery from a ruptured patellar tendon and many results suggested chances they were slim to none.
  3. 12-5 for the 17 consecutive game stretch, that's pretty damn good.
  4. Probably, hope the injury isn’t too bad.
  5. Regardless of the extent, groin injuries remain problematic throughout the season. I’m being fatalistic but, groin injuries are nagging, easy to aggravate.
  6. Just read it’s a groin injury, given what we’ve seen in the past - Jaylon - it basically a season ending injury. Sure, Jaylon came back but, he could barely move, damn it sucks. Don’t believe it’s going to slow the Bears’ offense down in a significant manner. One of Raymond, Thomas, Walker or a combination will step up in a big way.
  7. Guess it might a hamstring which is almost as troublesome, hoping for the best. I really believe injury luck is the biggest factor for Super Bowl winning teams, every season the winning team has amazing injury luck.
  8. Aren't groin injuries particularly troublesome? In all my years as fan of Chicago sports teams I don't remember a player returning 100% from such an injury during the season. It's almost always been an effectively season ending injury.
  9. Just watch the condensed game, PCA, as many have said, forces the opposition into mistakes, it's awesome.
  10. Relative to last few games this is a fairly large step down in opponents' starting pitching. Appears today is a bullpen game for the Royals, a bullpen which is among the worst in the AL.
  11. They didn't have to trade Skubal, they were will within the playoff picture, hell, with Skubal, even the AL Central was still in play. They, not the Dodgers, are ruining baseball, cowards. I hope this trade blows up in Tigers' faces.
  12. The send by Berry wasn't wise, have to consider who is running. Throw down to third by the Blue Jays was not wise either, they had no shot at getting PCA.
  13. Too bad about Luke Little, dude just can't throw enough strikes, never could.
  14. Mirkovic with surgery on his left foot, no other details other than he's expected to make a full recovery. WTF is it with Underwood' teams and terrible injury, etc. luck? Year after year, if it's not an injury, it's something else (Shannon) or illness or swarms of locusts, every horsefeathers year.
  15. It's probably more my irritation with the Dodgers' announcers, they make it easy to root for bad things to happen to the Dodgers.
  16. Pages is good, he's not in PCA' league who just might be historically good.
  17. LOL, Dodgers announcers creaming in their pants about Pages' defense, PCA probably makes those catches without sliding, almost making them look routine. Which is completely amazing and they wouldn't have a clue.
  18. Thanks. Was unaware of reports suggesting he wanted to sign with the Dodgers.
  19. Ed Howard to Iowa? 24, unfortunate injury history, not much hitting, is he close to the end with the Cubs?
  20. Don't get why the assumption is Skubal will sign with the Dodgers. He's from Seattle, I would imagine playing for Mariners has some appeal for him.
  21. Yes, don't know with Gordon, is it he aggravated/re-injured/new injury because of an intense off season program or is it being paid and the want is gone? The way Ben is talking, it's the later and if it is, he'll be an ex-Bear in 2027.
  22. Illini Summer Workout Scrimmages - flashes from Coleman, Lincoln Williams, Vaaks and Zens. Of course, it's much like the NBA Summer league nevertheless, plenty to find encouraging.
  23. In time, I believe Swain will turn it around, on the other hand, Essengue' got a G season to show he's worth the investment. My hot take - he's a bust, the Bulls won't pick up his option and he'll be back in Europe by 2028.
  24. Put Essengue on that train as well, don't know if he'll ever amount to anything. But, whatever that may be is light years away. Guess the Bulls have until Halloween to pick up the option for his third year, if he doesn't show any signs of life in the G-league, Noa better start thinking about FA.
  25. Do you see, much as last season, the asking prices for controlled pitchers being exorbitantly high?
