  1. I've always thought he's a glorified meathead. However, he did manage to find some excellent assistant coaches, we'll see if he can do so again.
  2. That is Richard Dreyfus. I finally got it, sharp as a marble I am, What About Bob? Now, the gif above makes a hell of a lot more sense.
  3. Sounds good, I don't expect the Cubs to advance, if they do wouldn't be too bad to play the Brewers. I believe the Cubs have a better chance at a long playoff run than the Brewers. Depends on one or more of the Cubs hitters coming out of the deep freeze they've been in the last three months. Say some of them come to life, then the Cubs have way more power than Brewers, the HR plays big in the post season. The Brewers MO of needing multiple hits to score works well, hell is awesome, against the Ryan Presslys and Colin Reas of the regular season. Post season is another story, for the most part, you don't have the luxury of facing the crappy pitching you see for a good deal of the regular season. The hits are harder to come by, that's why when you get them it helps if they are big ones - HR's.
  4. He did make the correct read, missed on the throws. I saw on it Jenkins' film review, the skills are there, looking off DB's, processing, etc., film don't lie, just, for whatever reason, accuracy was way off. I know the haters want to rip on Caleb focusing on all the bad, that's fine. But there's also glimpses of really horsefeathers good, the challenge is increasing the good and decreasing the bad.
  5. Amen. You never know what's going to happen, some of the Cubs' hitters who have been in coma the last three months could come to life. These kinds of things occur every year in the playoffs.
  6. Me too, probably not as vicious as it's been, after watching Jenkins' film review some of it is certainly warranted. To my untrained eye it appeared the scheme is working, people are getting open, unfortunately, Caleb missed on nearly all of them. They left a horsefeathers-ton of points on the field.
  7. Given that almost no one is hitting does it make a difference who's batting cleanup?
  8. I wonder if it'll be longer than 6 games, maybe, 7 or 8, will Chicago and the media be able to handle waiting that long? Probably not.
  9. Just curious, often hear about timing and throwing to spot, anticipation and all that horsefeathers. The unfortunately aspect is it very well may get worse before it gets better. Given it's the Bears, I'd say, the probability of things getting worse before they improve is 1 a.s.
  10. 4th down miss to DJ, any chance Caleb was throwing to a spot and DJ was either late off line or timing was thrown off by the Vikings' LB?
  11. I was down on him as well, his pick was very underwhelming coupled with his slow start but, I'm glad to be wrong. Don't know if he's going to win ROY however, mentioning Chad Patrick and Cade Horton in the same sentence as contenders for ROY is a joke. Horton' been far better than Patrick and it's not even close.
  12. Took a break from the endless exercises in futility known as Cubs’ at bats. Good to see nothings changed, Horton though, what an awesome surprise, I was down on him early, my mistake.
  13. I hear what you're saying, I believe, right now, BJ thinks Caleb is capable of running his offense. Otherwise, he'd be coaching somewhere else, it sucks but, all we can do is wait. Accompanying the wait will be a plethora of negative press and an overemphasis of every bad thing/result from Caleb.
  14. Honestly, anyone expecting the Bears, Ben Johnson and Caleb to click right out the gate was setting themselves up for disappointment. You've got the monster of schedule coupled with a new coach, etc. and, of course, like most anything else in life, it's going to take some time. If there's isn't noticeable improvement from Caleb coming out the bye or shortly thereafter I believe there's a good chance he'll be benched.
  15. Sure that isn't Richard Dreyfus?
  16. Don't care about the outcome of the game or the defense, all that matters is the above. I think we'll see flashes of brilliance and what Caleb will become mixed with less of the bad from yesterday. It's going to to be gradual process, baby steps.
  17. You're probably correct, if there's no marked improvement soon, he very well may bench him. This isn't the Bears "ruining" a QB, on the contrary, the coaching staff is putting him in a position to succeed - it's all on Caleb now.
  18. I agree, he has 6-8 games to get his horsefeathers together, don't think Ben Johnson going to watch Caleb repeatedly make the same mistakes.
  19. Couldn't agree more, teams literally find guys off the street with bigger legs. Was really disappointed the Bears didn't even consider looking for another kicker.
  20. Haven't posted in a while, just didn't think the Cubs were worth my time anymore, they're not serious about winning, plus all the other garbage. Getting back to Bears, I still believe Caleb' going to cook but, it's going to take an inextricably long time for the oven to warm up. Maybe, a quarter or more of the season, if after, say, 6 or 7 games we're still seeing the same poor play from Caleb it's time to move on.
  21. Think I’m taking break for a while, this horsefeathers isn’t worth my time. Good luck.
  22. I”m calling a 2 hit shutout for tomorrow, with a combined 7 K from Tucker and Seiya. Guessing PCA going to get another day off.
  23. Unless he goes on a massive heater no way he can command a mega deal.
  24. Why is Francona going to bullpen again? It’s not as if Tucker is a threat right now.
  25. Let’s be honest other teams shutting down this massively slumping team is no mean feat. They barely have to execute.
