  1. I usually feel confident the Cubs could scratch across a couple of runs against a bad bullpen. Kind of hard to do with a lineup containing 4 automatic outs at the top.
  2. Yes, both of those were almost middle middle should have been able to do more than foul them.
  3. Tucker, Seiya basically automatic outs at the moment, I know it's going to end. Given it's going on a month+ sure feels like it's never going to end.
  4. Done, where does Poles sign?
  5. Two HR's by Javier Sanoja who very much appears to be a meh player.
  6. It may have been a complete game 1-0 win vs. the then Expos (05-27-1977), can't find the PC, Krukow also scored the winning run.
  7. Hey, if the wind can work against the Cubs, why can't it work for them? It took away a 2 run HR from PCA and ONeil so, even Steven.
  8. It's okay to score a couple of runs here Cubs, it really is okay.
  9. Don't why that popped into my head and I may be off on the pitch count but, it was a complete game on a low PC.
  10. Don't know how many old timers are here but, does anyone remember Mike Krukow throwing a complete game on 64 pitches?
  11. I'd like to see Seiya be given at least, Saturday and Sunday off, maybe, give Willie a couple of games at DH.
  12. With Orioles in town does anyone think, given his numbers thus far, the price tag of Morton was exceedingly high? Or did Jed view Morton as not an improvement over Rea, Brown and soon to be back Tallion/Assad? I think many of us would have OK with Morton being one of the acquisitions yesterday.
  13. Just out curiosity I took a glance at his data over the years he's at American Family Field, he loves hitting at that park. Big numbers every year he's had games at AFF,in addition to needing someone at 1B this could be why the Brewers traded for him. Willing to live with below average road production in exchange for mashing at home.
  14. So would I, at the moment, it appears Vaughn productivity is limited to American Family Field (and some of Rate Field) -
  15. Is it possible Jed over values Cassie, etc.? Hence, leading to him being reluctant to take a risk? I wouldn't have traded them for rentals, there I don't blame Jed, but, I would have traded any of the top prospects for, say, Joe Ryan. Traded them with absolutely no reservations.
  16. When you trade for prime Miguel Cabrera and Greg Maddux you don't need to make any more significant moves.
  17. I'll give Jed credit for addressing the bench, there, he did the best he possibility could with Castro. Suarez aside, I don't know if there was a better option than Castro. At least Jed didn't punt on that need.
  18. Beyond the question about extension in hand, I wonder what his course of action might have been had Tallion and Asaad not be nearing returns. I believe he's banking hard on those returns and might have gone into deadline with a more kick the tires approach.
  19. Having guys who can miss bats is more important in the postseason. The Cubs SP certainly won't miss many bats but, the bullpen could potentially have guys who miss bats. If I had to pick I'd go with guys who miss bats at the end.
  20. Definitely, move Soroka to the rotation, no more horsefeathers bullpen games or Brown starts. When Tallion and Asaad come back, move Rea to the pen, probably shut down or severely limit Horton.
  21. As many have said, today wasn't a total loss Pressly was released, that's certainly addition by subtraction. I think it's obvious Pressly was cooked.
  22. Really glad they didn't trade for Hauser. Didn't some who has access to the data state Hauser' peripherals were suggesting a downturn in performance was only a question of when, not if?
  23. Be great if he starts to heat up soon, most especially vs. the Brewers. I believe Kyle Tucker is the best player in the NL Central and can carry the Cubs.
