  1. Completely ignoring HFA and just glossing over the weather. Or the fact that the NO run defense was amongst the worst in the NFC, and their overall defense is fairly weak.
  2. I agree this Katrina angle is nonsense, granted it was a terrible tragedy but, it’s got nothing whatsoever to do with the outcome of the game, or football itself. This notion of the Saints being the better team, or they're somehow more deserving because of Katrina is utter foolishness.
  3. Read an article about Walker in this week' Sporting News apparently, when one speaks to him, in say, English, that's not what he hears. That is, he doesn't process English as English rather, some mutated form of English.
  4. Are there any Illini fans who would like to see someone grow some today and take it right to Greg Oden? I'm thinking if you keep taking to Oden he'll eventually get into foul trouble.
  5. Brees has proven he can find passing lanes. Rex gets his passes tipped on a relatively frequent basis. Thanks, I thought the answer would be along those lines. Given the bashing of the Bears and Grossman by National Media I begin to wonder if they should even show up on the 13th or 14th.
  6. I know this isn't along the lines of the current discussion but, in yet, another crucifixion of Grossman by ESPN and Mark S. this morning, he mentioned Grossman' relative short-ness. Why is it no one ever questions the height of Drew Brees? Last time I checked he's listed at 6 feet...
  7. I don't know why I continue to listen to 670' Morning Show, Mike North is far and away Chicago' #1 sports moron. He's still calling for Brian Griese, citing his "spectacular" pre-season, he doesn't get it. Griese is incapable of doing what Rex can do, with Rex the Bears offense is actually a threat, like it or not, the only way the Bears are going to make to the Super Bowl is with Rex as the QB.
  8. Unfortunately, the Illini are worse, it was very frustrating watching Harris drive the lane time and time again. Of course, that's nothing new with this year' Illini, they have yet to show the ability to stop anyone from driving the lane. At this point, Bruce Weber should be awarded Coach of the Year if somehow manages to go 8-8 with this gutless bunch.
  9. If the Bears are Super Bowl bound its going to be with Rex Grossman as the QB, neither Griese or Orton is going work.
  10. You'd think the Saints hadn't lost this season, much less lost 6 times. Oh yeah Mark, and none of those other NFC teams have flaws. And the best part: The running game is the only thing consistent on this offense! Hilarious. Isn't Schlereth the same genius who had the Bears losing to GB, Det, and Minn right off the bat? Should the Bears face the Saints in the NFC Championship, I'm thinking they'll be able to pound Benson and run Jones against that rush defense that was ranked 13 of 16 in the NFC (128.9 YPG, 4.9 YPC).
  11. I'd love to see the Bears get Philadelphia in the Divisional Playoffs followed by New Orleans in the NFC Championship. Of course, if the Bears, following such course, make it to the SB they'll be plenty of the NFC' representative is not it's best team talk.
  12. And yet, there's quite a few Viqueen (until last week) and Packers apologists, fishing for any excuse to get them to playoffs were they'll be a "dangerous" team. Funny, last time I checked the Bears are NFC #1 seed and the Viqueen and Packers are straddled with 8 losses.
  13. Lack of common sense? Given the police had just raided your residence and your convicted of unlawful firearm posession. I don't believe it was the wisest decision to follow that up with a visit to a nite club - where the possibility of fight or some other such nonsense occuring is very good.
  14. Thanks for the highlights, as I told my wife last night, if Devin Hester breaks containment or makes it past the first wave of tacklers its 6. Is there anyone in NFL who can catch him? Reggie Bush, maybe?
  15. What was the difference between the hit of Harris, which drew a personal foul ,and the hit on Grossman (on the play that was reviewed and deemed to be a forward pass)?
  16. True enough however, you forgot the fact that the Cardinals have had perhaps, more good fortune than any other team in Baseball History. And we all know, good fortune and the Cubs are not bed mates.
  17. I thought Gonzalez was going to the Cardinals? I wish he was; he's not good any more. Let's hope its the Dodgers, because, an aging veteran on downward slope signing with the Cardinals has all-too familiar and tired outcome.
  18. Even without Randle and Smith(for all intensive purposes) we would have won if Brock would have got all of Richards minutes. Those two passes were absolutely terrible. Arizona is going to destroy us. I believe the Illini will hang in there with defense (the other night vs. Maryland notwithstanding) and rebounding yet, lose. If only someone would adpot the attitude Maryland' Vasquez had the other night - I'm going to the hoop and making plays, try to stop me. Or, in other words - FU UA and Lute Olson, you're going to react to my play, not the other way around. Chester Frazier or Calvin Brock maybe?
  19. I'd like to believe that's a possibility but, everything or one the Cardinals touch turns to gold. No doubt, under the tutelage of the great Dave Duncan and in Cardinal Red, Wells will go on to have the season of his life. Including going 4-0, with an ERA and WHIP both under 1, against the Cubs. Duncan's tuteledge didn't do much for Ponson, did it? The rare exception perhaps, I should have written almost everything or one the Cardinals touch turns to gold...

  21. Agreed, what of Turner taking advantage of teams consistently blitzing? Seems to me that, save for the Jet defender falling while covering Bradley, the Bears have yet to burn a team blitzing.
  22. Don't forget Cotts is hoping for a chance to earn a spot in the rotation too... With such a collection, a decent fifth starter should emerge from: Miller Prior Guzman Marshall Marmol Mateo By the way, should Prior be on the above list, is there realistic chance he's going to start 20+ in 2007?
  23. Something like: DeRosa & Agent: Well, Jim, were looking for something in the neighborhood of 2yrs/3 mil Hendry: 3 yrs/13 mil and that's my final offer!!!!
  24. Expect the worst and hope for the best?
  25. There may very well be something brewing however, why do I keep thinking the player(s) aquired will be along the lines Mark DeRosa, Juan Pierre or and, not someone like A-Rod? Or in other words, someone who'll put up numbers similar to an Angel Pagan or Ryan Theriot but, at much higher cost.
