    Its Hendry were talking about here so: 1. Smartest option who have the largest impact - Dunn 2. Poorest option who'll have no impact whatsoever (unless the Phillies are back on schedule) - Conine Given these options I believe its pretty clear who's going to end up as a Cub.

    Hendry's idiocy knows no bounds. I guess the facts that Pagan doesn't know the number of outs which end an inning nor does he take good paths to ball or Jones losing several balls in sun/night don't suggest a need for a defensive upgrade in CF.

    I know hindsight is 20/20 but, given the Cubs have gotten next to nothing from CF, how bad would it have been to have left Pie in CF? Their record would quite probably be the same and I'm fairly certain Pie would have begun to make adjstments and improving at this point. Thereby, taking care of the CF question.

    I'm beginning to think Hendry was fooled by July into thinking the Cubs didn't need another bat. The can't afford to take on payroll argument is an empty one - to the billionaire(s) who are going to purchase the Cubs an extra million is a drop in the bucket. Futhermore, why wouldn't he go for broke? To be known as the GM who helped the Cubs to a WS title would be unmatched. Also, he's gone with the new ownership, I don't think there's a much of a question. Given this the most plausible conclusion is actually believes they don't or didn't need another bat.

    Facing more bad pitching tomorrow I'm going to go out on a limb and say the Cubs score two runs before the 9th inning. And maybe we'll learn the answer to what'll happen first a Cub HR or a Cub catcher throwing out a base runner. I'm leaning strongly towards the latter.
