  1. Conclusions I've drawn - --Adam Shaheen should be cut --Tarik Cohen should be regulated to kick returning --Playing out of I, leveraging David Montgomery, offers the best chance at improving and being aggressive on offense --The Bears were historically bad on offense to make that Eagles defense, which is terrible, look good
  2. Great reply.... [tweet] [/tweet]
  3. Is there talk he'll actually be available? A multi year deal would be better if it could actually happen. It seals Pace/Nagy to Rivers and not another young QB who could require years to evaluate. With the Bears cap space, a multi year deal would allow them more creativity to fit him in without forgoing like, everything else Do not know but, he's listed as a UFA for 2020, would the Chargers put a franchise tag on him at 38-39?
  4. Could a one year deal for Philip Rivers work in 2020? Does Rivers have enough for one decent year?
  5. I can't even tell because even when there's open receivers downfield, Mitch checks down or runs with it. With one exception where he hit an open receiver downfield. Apparently Nagy told Mitch the time for talking was done at halftime. Ice out Mitch the rest of the season. No one talk to him. Avert your eyes if he makes eye contact. Whitehair will get the helmet with the mic and call plays in the huddle. Maybe it's time Nagy got in his face and challenged him, nothing else has worked, No More Mr. Nice Guy Alice Cooper.
  6. I can't even tell because even when there's open receivers downfield, Mitch checks down or runs with it. With one exception where he hit an open receiver downfield. That reads like Mitch is scared shitless out there, what ever hope there is for his career as an NFL QB, he's got to say horsefeathers it and go balls out aggressive. There's no pressure now, why not be hyper-aggressive?
  7. Not that Mitch would have done anything but, this game was lost in the first half. For those that watched was Nagy playing it safe, not to lose, I've no faith in the QB mode?
  8. I see the Bears winning big - even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while and, the Eagles are terrible vs the Pass - or, much more likely, them losing a close game. A close game with the same old, same old, flashes of brilliance overshadowed by Mitch' misses of wide open receivers, taking bad sacks, dropping the ball because he lost it in the Sun or something likewise stupid. And, of course, Jordan Howard will have a great game afterwards, he'll be profusely congratulated by all of his former teammates ala Cedric Benson, hell, they'll probably carry him off the field. Has a former Bear EVER had a bad game against the Bears? It has happened, right?
  9. As long as they do not pick up the option year, or god forbid, extend him, I do not care what they do with him next season. I don't want them spending $100m on some journeyman nobody who happens to be a hot free agent. Go ahead and make him play for all I care. Believe I've read he's guaranteed money for 2020 and the Bears hold the option for 2021, might as well make him earn it in 2020, somehow. 2021? He's gone.
  10. That miss to Robinson at the 1 yard line was the very definition of why Trubisky is not an NFL QB. Short pass, wide open and he can't even put it in a spot where Robinson can at least catch it. I don't know the exact radius of the window to make that a catchable ball, but he wasn't close on what was essentially a non moving target. Prior to his drop/fumble he missed a wide open TD to Gabriel, its got to be frustrating as hell for the receivers. But, getting in Mitch' face won't help, just got to keep trying.
  11. Exactly, season' over, playing scared will only lead to more mistakes. Even though Nagy' gun-shy and has no faith in his QB, he's got to go out guns blazing being aggressive as aggressive can be, it's the only chance they have, if any. Think Mitch knows his career might be coming to end very soon?
  12. Frustrating, what's their record with average play at QB? I'd say at least 6 - 1.
  13. With the game in balance would you trust your mentally fragile, low football IQ OB to successfully execute anything? I’m guessing the difference in making a 35 yard FG vs a 41 yard FG is worth the risk of fumbling which has probably a 1% chance of happening given the situation where they are told to secure the ball over all else. All in all he should have hit the 41 yarder regardless but it seems moronic to not try to have the kick from as close as possible. Anyways it’s hilarious that the Bears came away from 3 1st and goal situations from the 9, 4 and 1 yard line with 9 points in a game they lost by 1 point That's where the game was lost, you've got try to not score at least one TD in those situations. And lo and behold the Bears tried and succeeded.
  14. With the game in balance would you trust your mentally fragile, low football IQ OB to successfully execute anything? I would trust him to execute a simple hand-off, yes. Seeing as how that is one thing I cannot recall the last time he screwed that up. I agree with you but, given most anything they've tried backfires I can understand Nagy being a little gun-shy.
  15. Given you've got a QB who, earlier just dropped the ball, that's probably a legitimate concern. That wasn't a hand-off though. With the game in balance would you trust your mentally fragile, low football IQ OB to successfully execute anything?
  16. Watching his post-game presser right now. That is the first thing he was asked about (not trying to get more yards) and he was completely dismissive of the question. Did not want to risk a fumble. Given you've got a QB who, earlier just dropped the ball, that's probably a legitimate concern.
  17. Time for another player' only meeting? To say what? We're a bunch of fumbling, bumbling horsefeathering idiots with perhaps, the most useless QB in the NFL? How do you lose a game when your opponent literally does nothing? Ask the Bears.
  18. Sure would have been nice to actually have game tape of this guy in college before making the pick. Will Nagy have Trubisky on a short leash Sunday? If so, does he go with Daniels or Bray? I have to think if he doesn't show some success in the first or second offensive series the boos are going to cascade down.
  19. Oh, yessssss. That was hard to watch, it's almost obscene how open the receivers are, most especially Miller over the middle on third down. There's no one within three yards of him, that's an easy 1st down, probably another 10 or more on top.
  20. Not really. If you want to quibble with "none", I'm talking about the young guys they expected to be key contributors this year and the years following - the supposed foundation of this team: Daniels (22), Cohen (24), Miller (24), Jackson (26), Roquan (22), Whitehair (27), Trubiksy (25), Fuller (27), Floyd (27), Goldman (25). Who in this group is playing better than last year? I'd expect to see some regression but it's pretty surprising to see it across the board. Okay, none of the young guys are on the back half of their career, okay. But there is a very good chance Mitch Trubisky has already played way more than 50% of his eventual career games in the NFL. Unless, Trubisky somehow becomes useful he's done after 2020 (Bears have the option for '21, correct?). Maybe Pace can use his middle-round magic to hit on a QB? Beyond Trubisky, the most disappointing player is Roquan. He was a beast at UGA and last season, then becomes a punching bag? There's got to be something wrong, you don't lose it like he has without something being drastically wrong.
  21. Also the offense did jack squat all game but for some reason people forget that. What that reason is, we'll sadly never know... I remember, prior to the fg attempt, second or third down, Mitch had Miller wide open down the middle and of course, missed. On the Score they were speculating on teammates beginning to get frustrated with his terrible play, can't blame them. How many times can you defend a guy who misses you when you're open time and time again?
  22. If the Bears wish to capitalize on their current window something such as that must be done. Thought I read something about Bridgewater as well?
  23. I know this is you schtick or whatever, but the 49ers are currently undefeated with an offense featuring a basically an average QB in Garappolo handing off a bunch and a strong defense. And it's not even like they have a bunch of highly pedigreed RBs either and are handing it off to an Ezekiel Elliot-type 30 times a game. Where you're kind of right is that you better be able to defend the pass in the NFL in 2019, which is a huge part of the 49ers success right now. The Bears D, not so much, but it'd be a lot more interesting to see if their performance could improve if they had an O capable of staying on the field. Although that may not be it either, they have given up huge series at the beginning of halves or games where they shouldn't be fatigued at all. I got to see very little of the past 3 games, mostly listening on the radio, so this isn't even a defense of Mitch or anything. Yesterday sounds like it was very ugly by him, but there isn't a justification for Nagys play call split at this point. It certainly isn't a winning strategy. At best it only serves to force Paces hand on Trubisky's future. ETA: Bears D is still average at defending the pass, but last year they were elite. At the end of the day you want a elite passer rating differential. You can be elite at one and average at another like the Bears were last year. But average at one and below average at another... Well it's obvious the Bears could easily be 2-4 and are fortunate to still be at 3-3. If they can fix the pass D, they don't need to pass a bunch. The pass rush has been non-existent the past two games, yes, Kahlil getting held on nearly every pass play, but, still, nothing. Does Pagano need to start blitzing on every 2nd and 3rd and long?
  24. That's all he's got, appears unable to do anything else, Nagy' must design plays to get him moving and run the ball much, much more.
  25. Maybe, they should look at running the ball - a lot - think Mitch can hand the ball off as well as anyone, I think. Why not take the ball out his hands? The OL is complete trash. Yes it is however, I think its a better bet that they'll run block more effectively than pass block with an incompetent QB.
