  1. I really wish we could get a resolution on Wilson so I could know what to root for. Like, if we're actually getting him, then yeah let's do every restructure and every cap saving move possible. Because of the league-wide cap issues, we're going to see a ton of quality players take 1 year deals in a good situation and re-enter the market next year. If we've got Wilson, we're a prime spot for those guys. Don't stress about losing depth because like you said we can probably replace guys for less, and maybe even upgrade while doing so. But if we're not getting a star at QB, I have little appetite for pushing current cap pain forward into future seasons. I don't want to make future seasons worse for the sake of putting a slightly better team around Teddy Bridgewater. Well said, I believe we're all tried of seeing good defense, pathetic offense Bear teams, do what it takes to get a real NFL QB. A QB opponents are going to take seriously, for once, if you have to give Roquan then do it, he and a good defense will be wasted on a team with Bridgewater/Mariotta/Darnold as the QB anyway.
  2. Howard has always struck me as a phony, don't know why maybe, its from the Fab Five days.
  3. Illini get Rutgers tonight, little apprehensive, being their first game and with such high expectations this could be the toughest of the BTT for them. Not to mention Ron Harper Jr. turns into horsefeathering Michael Jordan every time they face the Illini and Rutgers did beat them in December. In that game Rutgers somehow got to the line 36 times, got to literally grab and hang on Kofi (there's a video of Mulcahy getting a jump ball call after grabbing and hanging on Kofi' arm), got a phantom flagrant foul call on Williams during a FT attempt and of course, Harper Jr. went off for 28 points.
  4. If Robinson is signed, he along with Mooney and an improving Kmet might be about the best targets Russell Wilson has ever had or pretty damn close to the best. He currently has Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf. Thats better than Robinson/Mooney. Sent from my SM-A115AZ using Tapatalk Statistically Robinson and Metcalf are pretty close, nearly equal, Robinson' > Lockett but, Metcalf and Lockett both have it over Mooney so, as a package you're correct. How about Wilson would have some good weapons to work with on the Bears? Plus as been mentioned, Wilson not having to deal with Carroll. It's probably all academic, I refuse to believe something this great could happen for the Bears. It's against the rules.
  5. Just in terms of Arobs willingness to agree to something you mean? Yeah. If Robinson is signed, he along with Mooney and an improving Kmet might be about the best targets Russell Wilson has ever had or pretty damn close to the best.
  6. You're right, saw a video of Gard whining about the officiating in his post game interview found it quit ironic and entertaining. Although, I will agree Wisconsin got screwed by some bad calls, not the hook and hold by Davison but, on an out of bounds call late in the game. He tried claiming that a hook and hold happens on every possession, and my only thought was that's because Davison tries it on every possession. Davison trying to frame Kofi for the hook and hold against Illinois and then getting indignant when they correctly called it on him was one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen. Its not, as Gard suggested, a random instance of arms getting tangled, for Davison its by design.

The phantom 5th foul call on Trice was awful, and the out of bounds call was dicey. The hook and hold on Davison was overdue if anything. Forgot about the one on Trice, what a terrible call.
  8. I thought they were way overrated, preseason AP poll had them at 7, when they clearly benefited from an easier in conference schedule last season. I was rooting for them last night, despise Iowa in every way shape and form, as some have mentioned there's not a player on that Iowa roster that's remotely likable. Was surprised the officials decided to call a hook and hold on Davidson after letting him get away with it earlier in the game perhaps, they warned him after the first time. Still, though, I think they'll get in, more on reputation than anything, because the numbers probably suggest they should be out. The numbers do not suggest they should be out of the tournament, not even close. 9. They came into today 25 in NET ratings (12th in KenPom though that doesn’t matter) and have 4 Q1 wins. Look at the resumes of some of those first 4 out teams and...yeah It always seems like KenPom has a blind spot for them but yeah, probably more an indictment on the bubble/first 4-12 out teams on not capitalizing on a clearly bad Wisconsin team. Plus obviously the whole COVID stuff keeping non-conference/pre-season tournaments down. 10. Was thinking along similar lines, say for a moment we allow ourselves to believe the Bears are allowed to have such nice things, what'll be the cost? I think it'll be high but, how high? who cares worst case, i'd rather lose with russell wilson than have another defense first 9-7 squad narrowly miss or lose in the playoffs. give me a damn real quarterback for once. I really don't care either, was more of rhetorical question. I have no logic behind my reasoning but, I've feeling that, should Pace be able to pull this off, the cost will end up being fairly reasonable. Imagine that, Bears get a HOF QB, who's not washed up and at a decent cost. WTF?

  12. Right? I'm sure there was some logic behind it but Juwan has been lauded all year for gameplanning and in game adjustments. It was clear from the start that the gameplan was a giant flop and not just due to poor execution. It's crazy though how similar the Illini and Michigan play. Very similar defensive strategies, what they are generally trying to do on offense is similar too. Illinois just did it 1000x better than UM last night. Still SMH, though I like the Illini so its great to see them rise up as a program. Should be a nice little rivalry between these 2 teams the next few years. Next year MIchigan will have a 5 star coming in at center when Dickinson gets into foul trouble so that will be nice Tonight will be interesting, expecting MSU to really turn it up on the physical borderline dirty play.
  13. Tied with Kentucky for the most games vs. Quad 1 competition at 15, leading the nation in Quad 1 victories with 9, there's no question they should be a #1 seed regardless of the outcome of Saturday' game and the BTT. I'd sure like to see them win on Saturday though, for the moment, they've reversed trends of losing to Wisconsin, Iowa, Purdue and Michigan, Ohio State is next. It's looking as if Underwood has turned it around, recruiting is still puzzling, they had a great class last season but, appears to be back to where it was during the Groce era this year. Missing on all of the top targets, kids seemingly about to commit suddenly committing to another school without so much as a visit (Jones to DePaul). However, I think Kofi will be back next season and, if I'm not mistaken, Williams and Frazier may be able to take a fifth year, throw in an improving Curbelo/Miller/Hawkins, they should be among BT favorites.
  14. Curbelo is the x-factor, Michigan doesn't have anyone who can stay with him, in a rematch I would expect a far better game from Livers, et. al. Just didn't see anyone who's going to keep Curbelo from getting to hoop, scoring or dishing. Man it's been a long, long, time since the Illini had the player no one has an answer for and it feels good. I gave it a rest for a while after the Illini got pushed around and out-hustled by Ohio State in January, didn't think this was going to happen. Underwood couldn't get a solid 40 minutes out of these guys however, now, appears he's starting to get some consistent effort .
  15. Pat Foley on the call with the best goal song in the NHL cannot get much better.
  16. Pace should go OL and WR or WR and OL with the first two picks, and see what shakes out after the top QB prospects are drafted.
  17. If its Russell Wilson horsefeathers it, go for it, he still at the top of his game, Pace could do a whole hell of a lot worse.
  18. I'd like to think not but, who am I kidding? At this point I'm thinking they're going to run it back with Foles taking an OL with the first rounder that, might not be so terrible. As the most probable outcome being Pace and Nagy gone after 21, of course, that means another GM hire by current ownership so, take it with a grain of salt. The other is Pace giving up the house, trading up into the top 5 and taking Mac Jones while passing on Wilson, Fields and Lance. Pace will find a way to horsefeathers this up I think that's the most certain outcome.
  19. Sam Darnold? Don't know much about him, is he capable of making all the reads? Or, does Nagy have to cut the field in half, limit the playbook etc. for him as well? I'd like to see what happens when Nagy no longer has the excuse of a QB with mental limitations.
  20. That's good to read, appears Pace has figured out Wentz isn't going anywhere fast and it's wise to wait the Eagles out.
  21. Dream scenario-19 teams pass on Wilson citing his leadership, etc. problems, falls into the Bears lap. Bears take a chance on the potential locker room cancer and Wilson becomes the first franchise QB in modern Bears history, kicking GB ass along the way while ridiculing them. For once the Bears get to make the rest of the NFL look like horsefeathering idiots. If he makes it past 8, trade up to get him. Hell, if he gets past the Jets, I'd trade a pair of 1sts and a 3rd to move up for him over trading 2 firsts for Derek Carr. Do not think he'll make past the Jets but, stranger things have happened.

  23. Could it be Pace has learned something and knows its on the Eagles? That is, wait it out explore other options, just too fantastic to consider - the Bears being smart. I said earlier in this thread, but for whatever bad moves Pace has made, many fans always acted like some huge draft haul was inevitable, when he hasn't really parted with tons of "high level" assets. And when he did it was for an indisputably awesome player, in Mack. Let's hope he can calibrate this market. When you think about it waiting might be the best approach to lower the price tag for Wentz. The Eagles benched him, have let everyone know they're done with him and if not soon rid of his contract are on the hook for a chunk of change. In some aspects they're desperate, even more so if say, the Colts trade for Carr thereby eliminating another trade partner. Pace has nothing to lose by sitting tight.

  25. This plus TB specifically targeted Hill, they made certain they're not going to get beat by him, just removed him from KC's offense.
