  1. Without a doubt, given a chance, they'll just draft some version of Patrick Williams again. Like they did with Phillips, Terry and Buzelis, don't get the fascination with long athletic guys who can't shoot and aren't really good basketball players.
  2. Probably, more of downer hot-take on my part, there's not a lot to be optimistic about, Blackhawks are the way to losing a horsefeathers-ton of games again. Which might be palatable if it was with a roster full of young developing players. But, this roster of veterans who have no future with the Blackhawks, what's the point?
  3. I believe it's going to be several years before we see anything significant from Bedard.
  4. Don't really care about the score as well, another loss is probably better anyhow, just want to see Caleb perform well. For it's worth Thomas Brown complemented the Vikings defense, he also said we're not going to play in fear or coach in fear. Basically saying horsefeathers the Vikings and their blitzes, were going to be aggressive, at least it's the right attitude.
  5. I'm not much younger, I remember Artis Gilmore, Reggie Theus, Orlando Woolridge, Johnny Mengelt, think it's just a little after the Bob Love, Jerry Sloan, Norm Van Lier days.
  6. Has Jed not talked about pitchers with plus stuff who miss bats? Unless I'm mistaken, from a glance at his Savant page, there's nothing plus about Eli Morgan' stuff, more of the movement and location type who get lit up when they can't generate movement and locate their pitches.
  7. Couple of days late, didn't see posted elsewhere - RIP Bob Love
  8. Apparently, Jaylon Johnson said, had he not got tripped up, he was going to pick off the pass to Watson. I believe him, that coupled with Watson pushing Hicks away and making a great catch is what happens to Eberflus coached teams. Next year Kingsberry/Ben Johnson/whomever coaching, Jaylon doesn't get tripped up and picks the ball off.
  9. Steelers are not exactly an offensive juggernaut.
  10. Instead how another blocked kick and return for a TD?
  11. I'd go for it, another first down makes them burn their timeouts and should you have to punt after the next series of plays they'll have less time with which to work. But, let's be honest, whatever choice Eberflus makes will ultimately be the wrong one. While the dude is about a sharp as marble regarding some things, he's also the most snake-bitten Bears coach in history. Everything that can go wrong does, never catches a break.
  12. Say the Bears are up 8 on the Vikings, 2:30 left in the game, 4th and inches at the 50, you know Eberflus is going to punt and trust his defense to keep them out of the end zone.
  13. It's got to have something to do with Eberflus' lack of fire, aggression, whatever. Dude, for the most part, just stands there and lets all the missed calls roll off his back. If it we're me, especially last year with the repeated cheap shots on Fields, I'd first try the discreet official channels of complaint like Eberflus does. When that didn't work I'd probably would have gotten my self fined and thrown out a games for getting in officials' faces and calling them out in press conferences.
  14. The focus has to be on Caleb, if he can handle the Vikings' blitzes and exploit them I'll be happy win or lose. He didn't horsefeathers his pants ala Mitch and Justin vs. the Packers, hopefully, we don't get the Justin deer in the headlights vs. the Vikings. As for the rest, I'm certain we'll see the same lack of urgency and aggression from Eberflus, no concerted efforts to pressure Darnold, DB's falling/getting pushed down leading to big plays for the Vikings, etc.
  15. Guess Rome was held on the missed throw by Caleb that should have been an 88 yard TD. Yet, another missed DPI/DH, don't know what is, perhaps, it's lack of anything from Eberflus, as to why the NFL continues to let defenses mug Bears' receivers. Similar to the allowance of head shots on Fields last season.
  16. Theoretically Williams' quick release should negate any defensive adjustments, a well prepared football team will have no problems. However, as you alluded, within the last 10 years when have the Bears been well prepared? Never.
  17. There's definitely something real and good with Caleb, it's a shame to waste it with Eberflus for next 7 games. This not Nagy with a flawed Mitch and Justin or Eberflus with a flawed Justin, a decent HC with Caleb puts an end to the Packers dominance. They're just wasting precious development time by letting Eberflus continue, as many have said, they don't deserve to have fans.
  18. Given the previous three plays, riding that emotion, I think there's a real good chance something positive happens.
  19. I know exactly what's going to happen next week: Caleb will play well, 2-3 TD passes, they'll build a double digit lead with about 5 minutes left in the game. And proceed to lose because dick-less, in plus territory, 2:30 left on the clock, fourth and inches, chooses to punt, instead trying to ice the game by getting a first down.
  20. if Eberflus says - "Ya know what? horsefeathers them, lets get as many yards possible in two plays and try to make the FG attempt much easier or even a TD, go Caleb." - I'm certain we'd be talking about a Bears victory today.
  21. The truly frustrated part is it's a lack of aggression. a lack of aggression from a coach who has to know by now he's fighting for his job. Just don't understand his stubbornness and refusal to be aggressive, it'll end with his firing.
  22. Maybe the group of players who approach Poles about Waldron could do the same about Eberflus today. They've got to fed up with Eberflus finding ways to lose winnable games by now.
  23. Complete nonsense if you find the right guy to be HC.
  24. Way too conservative on defense as well, you could see it yesterday, time and time again they rushed four on obvious passing downs. Giving, Love, a guy who will make mistakes under pressure all kinds of time.
