  1. It's got to be a case of succeeding despite themselves, somehow the right coach has to fall in their laps. Their due diligence always results in failure, I don't it's possible to overcome that expect by sheer luck.
  2. Can someone who knows football more than I please explain the logic behind Eberflus' defensive approach in high leverage situations? I really do not understand rushing 4 + soft zone allowing easy completions, he did at Detroit last season, against the Packers, yesterday, etc. maybe, they're being aggressive and I can't see it.
  3. It's truly not possible, he's really stupid in that he doesn't learn from mistakes and try different approaches. It's the same old losing strategy and tactics time and again.
  4. Rest of the NFC North better hope the Bears don't bear/stumble their way into competent coaching. Caleb Williams has the goods to be the best, better than Love, McCarthy (eventually) and Goff. Once again Eberflus coaching not to lose results in just that - losing. There was no reason whatsoever to not go after Darnold and blitz the hell out of him. Instead it was more rush 4 and soft zone, if the Bears were coached by most anyone they'd be 7-4 or 8-3 right now. It's got to be apparent to Warren/Poles that Eberflus is not a good NFL HC.
  5. And Eberflus does nothing, right? He'll make certain to send that film to the NFL and lodge a complaint or whatever.
  6. The whole horsefeathers season they've let defenders mug Bears' receivers, just like last season Fields head-hunting. It's got to have something to do with weak-ass Eberflus.
  7. Don't get it either, Darnold is garbage and can be forced into mistakes with pressure, someone should tell Eberflus. Dude is coaching with no sense of urgency, maybe, he knows something we don't know, maybe his job is secure regardless.
  8. You mean wasting time and not running a couple of plays trying to make the FG attempt easier?
  9. Good, the Vikings have the edge the first time facing him, if they can't rattle him the first time that bodes well for the future.
  10. Not watching, appears the Vikings and their blitzes are not overwhelming Caleb? No Justin Fields-deer-in-the-headlights? If so, the biggest and best development from this game.
  11. The usual rush 4 and don't even try to dial up pressure I presume?
  12. It's highly possible, a team would have to try to hand the Bears a game for them to win and since none of those other teams are coached by Eberflus it's not happening.
  13. I'd like to think there's a chance things will improve with the next coaching hire but, given the Bears talent for always hiring the wrong guy, I don't know. They're literally going to have to get lucky.
  14. Was it because Santos has to kick a LD? If so, Eberflus doesn't learn does he?
  15. Maybe so, Caleb' development is the priority and winning is not, he'll be history in 7 games anyway.
  16. Was looking at NFL Tankathon, I don't expect the Bears to win again, they're current at 14. Have not checked the schedules, believe the Saints, Bengals, Dolphins and Bucs will all manage to win at least 5 games. So that moves the Bears up to 10, of the 9 teams ahead of them, just don't see any of them managing 5 wins.
  17. They can have right now honestly, there's no reason not to cut him and give playing time to Scott and Colin Johnson.
  18. What the horsefeathers ever, the question is moot, Eberflus had a chance to make the FG attempt easier and choose not to do so. It's on him for being a no-urgency, dickless, coward. Packers fan just better hope the Bears don't stumble upon some competent coaching, the talent is there at QB, more talent will be added after next year's draft. Beyond the coaching, the ingredients are there to put and end to the Packers' dominance.
  19. I agree, Allen being potentially out is no big deal, believe Brown' was/is going to up the targets DJ and Rome regardless.
  20. Without a doubt, given a chance, they'll just draft some version of Patrick Williams again. Like they did with Phillips, Terry and Buzelis, don't get the fascination with long athletic guys who can't shoot and aren't really good basketball players.
  21. Probably, more of downer hot-take on my part, there's not a lot to be optimistic about, Blackhawks are the way to losing a horsefeathers-ton of games again. Which might be palatable if it was with a roster full of young developing players. But, this roster of veterans who have no future with the Blackhawks, what's the point?
  22. I believe it's going to be several years before we see anything significant from Bedard.
  23. Don't really care about the score as well, another loss is probably better anyhow, just want to see Caleb perform well. For it's worth Thomas Brown complemented the Vikings defense, he also said we're not going to play in fear or coach in fear. Basically saying horsefeathers the Vikings and their blitzes, were going to be aggressive, at least it's the right attitude.
  24. I'm not much younger, I remember Artis Gilmore, Reggie Theus, Orlando Woolridge, Johnny Mengelt, think it's just a little after the Bob Love, Jerry Sloan, Norm Van Lier days.
