  1. Not getting Doncic. They've been in basketball hell for quite some time. Doncic keeps them out of the basketball hell they've been in prior to the 1st half of this year. If the Bulls draft Magic, there's no Jordan and no dynasty.
  2. Another good day on the farm. Swarmer continues to miss bats despite marginal stuff. Washer is showing he belongs at AA, his improvement over what he did at SB last year has been great.
  3. The refs are already screwing the game in Boston.
  4. (Since he never developed much of a change) If that slider can be an out pitch to lefties, it'll go a long way in him becoming a starter instead of a middle reliever with fringy command.
  5. The depth has really improved. Still need to see higher ceilings from the top 5 to make it a great system but I don't recall this much depth even when they had top systems in 02 and 15.
  6. Cam Sanders looking good at Iowa. 95-98 FB, flashing a plus curve. Hopefully at some point in the next few months he can continue his way up. 4IP 2H 1ER 4BB 7Ks Also, Ball continues to hit with a single in his 1st ab for the Tenn RBI
  7. I hope the Cubs put Horn back in the rotation.
  8. It's good to see, you wondered early on if he was sacrificing power for contact. Also, Garcia has 4HRs in the past week for Iowa.
  9. Ended up at 77 pitches. Feels like getting him a few starts north of 100 without seeing any subsequent issues is really the only thing left that he needs. He's not running the crazy K/BB numbers he had with the Giants last year, but they're very good ones and he's running a groundball rate north of 60%. He's certainly one of our top 5 starters and is probably one of our top 2. He's the most important pitcher in the entire organization right now.
  10. For someone who wanted A. Chapman always to start, I find the short leash ironic. I do agree however that odds have him as a late inning lefty ala A. Miller.
  11. I'm all for giving him a sustained period of time of success before even considering a promotion.
  12. They really need to bump him up. Yep, swap him and Caissie. Throw Beesley in LF lower in the order at sB!
  13. Yeah, I'm all for unloading him before having to pay fair market value for a role player. If he wants to fluke his way to a 144 OPS+ at the deadline, even better.
  14. The thinking behind the trade was fine. The Cubs were supposed to be getting elite numbers from Quintana but he definitely disappointed. It was supposed to work out for both teams but did not. However, Garland for Karchner was the dumbest trade I've seen. Trading a top prospect for a closer with an ERA above 5 doesn't work
  15. Remainder of picks I would've made. 5) Braxton Jones - I actually kept the same pick. I still think Borom ends up at G. My favorite pick of the draft. 5) Matthew Butler -DT Tenn Athletic quick can play 3 or 5 technique. 6) Malcolm Rodriguez LB OK St Fast Athletic former S undersized 6) Quinton Lake S UCLA 6) Curtis Brooks DT Cincy 7) Dareke Young WR Lenoir Rhyne Big WR deep threat. 7) Marquis Hayes OL Oklahoma 7) Samori Toure WR Nebraska
  16. Jones is a terrible pick, IMO. I thought he would have been a better option as the 2nd WR taken for the Bears. My ideal draft so far .. Booth from Clem Moore from WMU Raimann from CMU
  17. Beginning to wonder about that as well, I can understand the pick at 39 but, not going offense with the latest pick is pretty disappointing. This defense, defense, defense nonsense is really tiresome. Im fine with the picks so far. It's likely been their two BPAs at two positions of need and likely game 1 starters.
  18. Luckily for the Bears (minus QB and HB), every position is a position of need.
  19. How about Jermaine Johnson instead? Ourlads bucketed them together so I guess Tomato/Tomahto, but I’m meh on a trade up How about Quay Walker sneaking into the first round? Wouldn’t be surprised if every Georgia player in this draft but Pickens goes on to have quality careers Fwiw, I was expecting Walker to be around when the Bears were on the clock. However, I like their pick of Wyatt.
  20. Andrew Booth Nakobe Dean Boye Mafe Kyler Gordon Arnold Ebiketie Christian Harris Travis Jones Jaylen Pitre Bernard Raimann
  21. Hopefully the Bears are pondering the possibility of the Giants trading Toney.
  22. Frazier gets me somewhat excited for getaway day.
  23. Not to be Kyle but it's obviously early. I am encouraged by the improvement in the approach as well as the ability to throw strikes thru 2.
  24. There was a #44 prior to Rizzo on the Yankees.
  25. You're projecting everything to go right to get to what 85 wins at most. My brain is struggling to compute that you think they will likely suck but have talent. Even the perennial dwellers have talent just not enough, including the Cubs I’m not arguing they will be good, they probably are a 70 something win team. But things could break right and your premise that there’s absolutely no MLB talent is wrong. Especially on the pitching side. It's semantics at this point. They have talent both in the majors and in the farm, just not enough to be successful. They also have the resources to be more successful and refuse to utilize them, which is more frustrating.
