  1. It's a middle of the road farm system right now. It can be a blessing or a curse at the bulk of the talent is at A and lower. The farm system is of a lesser concern than the lack of talent at the majors. If you're going to be rebuild, need a top farm system and a willingness to spend for elite players in their prime. Right now, they don't appear to have either. Stroman and Hendricks have been top 25 pitchers for like the last 5-6 years. Stroman, Hendricks and Miley project for over 9 WAR combined, Suzuki could be a star and there’s a lot of favorable projections, Madrigal might be the best contact hitter in baseball, the catching duo is probably top 3-5 in MLB, Frank/Wisdom/Ortega/etc might be real things, Nico is an elite defender and may be a good hitter/overall valuable player, Happ is still young enough for a breakout. There is talent on the major league roster. They still might suck, likely will, but there’s talent. You're projecting everything to go right to get to what 85 wins at most. My brain is struggling to compute that you think they will likely suck but have talent. Even the perennial dwellers have talent just not enough, including the Cubs
  2. I have to admit I'm pretty downtrodden about this team from ownership to the state of the farm but it would take something like we seen in 2001 but there's no Sosa or Lieber as far as a sub-par talented team pretending to contend. You're disillusioned about the state of the farm? It's a middle of the road farm system right now. It can be a blessing or a curse at the bulk of the talent is at A and lower. 4. I don't blame you for feeling this way but there's a lot of interesting storylines to this season despite a likelihood of being a little worse than mediocre. 1. Is Suzuki actually a superstar? 2. Brennen Davis call up watch. 3. Is 2021 Schwindel a thing? What if he is? 4. To a lesser extent, same thing but Wisdom. 5. How good is Nick Madrigal? If he can sustain last year he's a valuable piece. 6. Killian call up watch. 7. Not about the big league squad but I'm really excited to see how all these prospects on the precipice of top 100 status do. 8. Nelson Velazquez watch. Maybe a thing? 9. Stroman doing his thing. I'm as disgusted as anybody with this payroll BS and the fact that they passed on a really good player at one of the biggest positions of need in the lineup, but there is a lot I'm looking forward to seeing this year. Unfortunately, none of the 9 things you mentioned involved wins.
  5. This roster is built for 2023. If they don't finish in the bottom 5, Poles will be disappointed.
  6. Attending a non-dome game in Japan would be a highlight of my life.
  7. What do you think about going after Duane Brown on 2/20, shifting Borom to G (where he is better suited) and Jenkins at RT?
  8. Give Dallas the picks they received from LA for Cooper and Collins.
  9. Hopefully the racists held onto their horry kow shirts
  10. Trevathan and Cohen probably. I feel like would have kept Cohen (unless the medical reports are dire) because he doesn't understand or care about the concept of sunk cost Mack would definitely still be in Chicago.
  11. I have no complaints so far as their transactions.
  12. I always missed the collegiate equivalency to minor league debate. The Friday stater and #3 hitter of a collegiate powerhouse likely can have the same tools as a SS/low A player but it's a broad brush to apply it every college player.
  13. I like the deal, I thought this was the max they could get for him or Quinn (I was hoping for a 5th). Regardless, Poles had to basically hit 100% with this draft. They can't afford to go to CB, WR, OL, and DL and not get starters while still possibly needing starters at LB and S depending on FA.
  14. Will flexing across days cause more of a logistical headache than its worth? If not I would guarantee them at least the 2nd best matchup when the TV schedule is calculated. The overall matchups on MNF generally have been trash.
  15. Give MNF the ability to flex games with the same importance as SNF does. I hate to agree w/ESPN but I prefer MNF being more relevant.

Can't wait for the OT rules to ruin this.
  18. I'm 100% for the DH, I used to enjoy the thought of managers being creative and having an impact on the game but it just drags the game down. Watching a pitcher hit is painful.
  19. I've always sided with the MLBPA dating back to '94. However, after witnessing these last two months combined with the Ricketts' ownership; my distain has only multiplied.
  20. Previously, I was for adding front court depth and now I'm more for keeping the core, add this off-season, and see what you have with everyone healthy.
  21. Cohen will be cut.
  22. Good for Lovie, he's been the best Bears HC of my lifetime.
  23. This Turner is a much better fit.
  24. Sounds like they've generally ranked low in ST numbers. But maybe that's just an end of roster issue for SF. Bisacchia's ST also routinely rank in the 20s. Literally his only value was that he was a HC for half the year this year. Deciding correctly on Grant, O'Donnell, and Scales will have more of an impact on ST than the coach.
  25. I obviously want Bisaccia but Judge and Rizzi are still available also.
