    The Royals did the same thing last year. I think they do it to save for confusion when it comes to refunds for games not played. Or, they're all rich dudes who are investing the money and making interest off it while they hold it for us. I'm sure they are writing it off somehow also.

    It would be a real shame to see him reinjure himself giving up the winning runs to the Cubs in the last game of the NLDS.

    Going into the game I was 90% confident that they were going to get shut out. Time to bottom out and go for the first pick? I could see them winning 4 games in the second half and blowing the high pick.

    The Baseball's Best Fans Twitter account is hysterical when things actually go wrong for them. Post after post of fans [expletive] on players with ridiculously good season-long numbers, especially when Lance Lynn pitches. i mean there's a couple of posts in there showing serious concern about them missing the playoffs altogether like WTF? This is amazing. Steven Bergman I made mention in July that this team will miss the playoffs and I am right! Pardon the pun but the cards are stacked against them!

    It's also not fair to the Cardinals that they have to get swept by the Cubs in the division series instead of getting to play the Mets or Dodgers.

    I guess it's possible. Hinske put up almost 5 WAR his first season, and then 6 WAR total for the rest of his career.
