  1. Going into the game I was 90% confident that they were going to get shut out. Time to bottom out and go for the first pick? I could see them winning 4 games in the second half and blowing the high pick.
  2. He will run and field that way well into his 50s. we'll need to field a replacement by 2045 or so, i thought this front office was supposed to be forward-thinking???? His good season at age 47 will cost the Cubs the chance to draft Kris Bryant Jr.
  3. http://33.media.tumblr.com/3e18478491f8f01e2361b68ac29f4838/tumblr_mmypwvBpDr1s9fs7vo1_500.gif Hahahahahahah! Damn, his face really did just stop growing with the rest of him. Maybe he can get a therapeutic use exemption for some FGH.

  5. Yeah, I bought it when it went down to $10. It's pretty great, I love being able to jump to any inning I want.
  6. The Baseball's Best Fans Twitter account is hysterical when things actually go wrong for them. Post after post of fans [expletive] on players with ridiculously good season-long numbers, especially when Lance Lynn pitches. i mean there's a couple of posts in there showing serious concern about them missing the playoffs altogether like WTF? This is amazing. Steven Bergman I made mention in July that this team will miss the playoffs and I am right! Pardon the pun but the cards are stacked against them!
  7. I think this was a proof of life situation.
  8. It means that IMB is trolling Keith Law. I have no idea what those screens are from though. It's an app called Periscope where you can livestream yourself and people send in comments. Ahh. I know about periscope, but I'm definitely not using my data to watch that.

  11. If the Giants pass them they aren't going to end up within 10 games of the Cubs.
  12. A decision they'll ultimately regret. How so?
  13. This might already be the best game thread ever. Oh [expletive], I probably jinxed it. Can't talk about the game thread while it's happening.
  14. I assume your name must be Ocket. Because his is from Arkansas I assumed it had something to do with the state university. Yeah, I assumed it was some terrible southern thing.

  16. Yeah, but how far would it have gone if every game was played in the vacuum of space?
  17. It's also not fair to the Cardinals that they have to get swept by the Cubs in the division series instead of getting to play the Mets or Dodgers.
  18. I don't know if those count as meatballs, I feel that needs its own term.
  19. I guess it's possible. Hinske put up almost 5 WAR his first season, and then 6 WAR total for the rest of his career.
  20. Soler shouldn't even be let in the same clubhouse.
  21. I knew a few kids who had those, but only one who somehow had the only Turbo Grafix 16 I ever saw AND the only Atari Jaguar I ever saw. God knows whatever happened to that poor bastard. I had Turbo Grafx 16, but never had a Jaguar.
  22. Oh yeah, definitely remember yearning for that. My cousin had it and he was always so indifferent to it and it drove me up the wall. In my head it was capable of making dinner or doing your homework or walking the dog. Basically I wanted a robot butler. It was pretty cool, I think I even got it to pour a drink once. I would actually still have it, but my brother decided to take it apart to see how it worked and then couldn't put it back together.
  23. I wanted that thing so bad when I was a kid. Yup. I apparently was such a little [expletive] about wanting it for Christmas that my parents wrote a fake letter from Santa Claus explaining why it wouldn't fit in the house. 4-year-old me was so amazed that I got a letter signed by Santa that I totally bought it. I bought it so much that the next year they did the same damn thing when I wouldn't shut up about wanting this robot: http://www.theoldrobots.com/maxx.html It worked then, too, but by the following year when they tried the same thing when I was demanding the gigantic GI Joe aircraft carrier I knew what the score was. Still didn't get that damn aircraft carrier, though. I had one of these bad boys: http://www.theoldrobots.com/omni2k.html
