  2. no kidding, geez. that site is terrible.
  3. Neither am I. I've wanted Cedeno to be SS since the offseason began. I don't think Furcal was worth $10M per year -- let alone $13M. I agree to a point here - I don't want Furcal at $10m+ - but I wouldn't mind seeing Nomar re-signed for a year. If that isn't happening, I'm all for starting Cedeno at SS. The problem with that plan is that I can't imagine Dusty actually doing it, especially with another rookie (Murton) starting. Looks like we might see a lot of Neifi again in 2006....
  4. well, let's give ramonbackwards a call and get him signed back up. cedeno can back up 2b and ss and start for us in '07.
  5. I can't imagine Beane wanting Soriano in the first place unless he was going to flip him elsewhere immediately.
  6. hey, nice job ruining a joke! that's some good work.
  7. yeah, that's the idea. if the guy we want ends up being snatched in the rule 5 draft, we'll get a different player.
  8. this better be a pretty good ptbnl.
  9. mlbtraderumors is not a very good site. i wouldn't trust anything on there.
  10. this seems like a lot for wagner.
  11. i'd prefer mark sweeney. as long as he STAYS a bench guy, which i don't think is very likely, this won't be too terrible. this could end up really ugly, though...
  12. i don't think ohman's career ERA should mean much....it's just last year + the games he played in 2001, no?
  13. if it's not macias, i might be done with the cubs
  14. dude, we're going to have good defense. now we'll only lose 3-1 instead of 4-1! yay!
  15. exactly this signing makes me want to vomit
  16. BJ Ryan's a closer. The Cubs already have a closer. Ryan will command 2-3 times more then Eyre. right, and it's believed that ryan will not pitch as anything but a closer (unless he's on the yankees, where he'd be rivera's replacement in a couple years).
  17. that's wrong. hendry orchestrated that entire deal. theo gets the credit because of the title.
  18. dlee got one first and one second. that's ridiculous.
  19. eyre was contacted by all 30 teams. when he reveals his contract desires (3/9m), a lot will drop out. hopefully the cubs are one of those teams, because i really do not want to see another albatross reliever contract.
  20. you're quoting stats from 2001 - why don't you take a look at how bad he was all-around last year? Um, OK. It was a trivia question, not a trade analysis. seemed pretty pro-pierre to me

  22. they got this one right. good to see. i doubt tomorrow's results will be correct like today's were.
