    Met Vance and Indifferent this weekend. Good times. I didn't get to talk as much, as I was busy pouring drinks, but they were both nice people.

    Would we want to take it? I think he makes 12 this year and next. And first base is the only position he can "play", and he's pretty brutal there. So once Lee is back, you've got a 12 million dollar PH. He is a good hitter though. I wish we would have gotten Craig Wilson. He can play 1B, and when Lee returns, he could platoon w/ Jones. I doubt he'll be traded now, though, with the casey thing. (see craig wilson thread)

    I don't like Cedeno in the 2 spot. It increases the pressure on him, and besides, we want people on base for Aram and...Aram. Cedeno's batting three something now, but you have to expect that to drop off, and when it does, his OBP will too, considering he isn't exactly a walk machine.

    I'm asking for 2 months of Olerud, not 1.5 seasons. Our options are limited for players available who can play first and be done away with when Lee returns/move to another position. I'm just throwing out a name that I think would work. If he did what he did last year, yeah. I just don't want to trust a player that old. I think it's too risky. Clark would put up his line no prob. last year was clarks first season with a .300+ OBP since '01. He's hardly a guarantee. And we'd have to give up something to get him. I like the olerud plan better.

    Which boards? If you're fishing for ammo, you're bound to find some if you look hard enough. It wasn't hard to find. Last night, front page of Cards Talk was as far as I had to go. That place makes cubs.com look like a MENSA message board. It's got some good posters, but they're drowned out by the idiots.

    I have an idea. Let's sticky a "Neifi sucks" thread at the top. Let's also sticky a "Neifi doesn't suck" thread. Or maybe a "Neifi doesn't suck nearly as much as many claim, especially when used properly by Dusty" thread. Then, we can have all of our other threads Neifi free and still have a place to post our widely divergent opinions on the level of Neifi's suckitude. Now, back to the topic. I know they said Lee is flying back to CHI today. Is the MRI scheduled for today, or do they have to wait until the swelling goes down?

    Why is it lame, though. I think that EVERY town should claim to have the best fans. It's like Chicago saying "we have the best pizza". Obviously there's nothing to document that, but I don't have a problem with them saying it....... I wouldn't argue with them! First of all, chicago DOES have the best pizza in the world. A triple blind taste test performed by me proved it...undeniably. Why is it lame? I don't know. It just is. Partly because so many St. Louisians really believe it and talk about it. Go over to cards talk for proof. They're constantly talking about TBBFIA, BBBF, TBBFIAAOUST. Now they've got billboards. Outside of NY, I can't think of another American city that toots its own horn more than StL. And that's weird, because there's really not much to crow about. For the record, though, a billboard like that would be lame in any town, not just StL. Eh.......it's just a promotional thing (like the pizza). Nothing more. Indiana claims to be "the crossroads of America" on their billboards. Maine claims to be "The Way Life Should Be". You've got that sort of thing everywhere....... not just St. Louis. true

    There are at least two billboards in StL that say "You're in the home of baseball's best fans" or something like that. They're for FOX. I crack up every time see them. So lame.

    We've done that a few times, and I think ALbert has gone yard on us almost every one of them. Chin music doesn't seem to faze him much.
