    I’m watching the Vikings and Green Bay. Both teams will crush the Bears. The offense of the Bears is incompetent. Like a different game.

    I want Kilian to have a great game. He seems so capable but he can’t miss bats. I don’t have a lot of confidence he’s ever going to make it as a starter.

    Williams is going to be a multi millionaire before he ever gets drafted. Good, lord.

    Kyle was consistently good as a Cubs pitcher longer than anyone I can remember. Obviously Maddux and Fergie are HOF, but they spent some of their best years elsewhere. Last 40 years, he’s the Cubs best pitcher factoring in longevity.

    This is it. Cubs have among the highest concession prices in baseball. Everything they do is designed to drain the fan of money. Even their 50/50 “charity” is funded by their fans. Every square inch of Wrigley looks like a NASCAR vehicle. The food is below fast food standard quality and everyone knows how much a beer costs at the bar. There is making a profit and then there is gouging. It’s a decision on their part. Whatever, I don’t have to go so I don’t, but I wish I wanted to. I love Wriggle or at least I used to.

    I’m not agreeing or disagreeing with anyone’s argument. SS has a positional bias in calculating WAR. His number is defense heavy but inflated by the bias. He’s not going to get any better but he’s still a good defender. There is a reason why the Braves let him go. On the right team he’s an excellent part.

    Inida is a really good offensive 2nd baseman. His defense is not great though.

    The pen. I know that’s not new or news, but yeah, it’s bad if it takes two plus months to get sorted again.

    Horton has to show he can manage a starting pitcher workload. He's not young and he's pitched less than 200 innings between college and professional baseball. That's not the profile of a starting pitcher. I understand why they limit innings and all the other stuff, but at some point, he has to pitch like a starter for more than a handful of starts. Flame away.

    yes, just waiting to see where the new breakdown will come from. It's terrible to be conditioned this way.

    I don't know if I'm getting older and it matters less to me, but this was the least enjoyable Cubs season I can remember since 2010-2013. Absolutely no reason to enjoy after April. The worst part for me is that it was by design. The Ricketts have drained almost all of my fandom.

    He looked fine. He was on time with a pitch down the middle but fowled it straight back. If they decide to trade him, I hope it's for a real difference-maker.

    Jed is the perfect fit for the owners. He may get fired or leave at the end of the next season but we can rest assured that they will find another just like him. They have their idea of how to build a winning team and a financial limit they will not stray much past. They have their championship and will now and forever be counting coin.

    I still think he's got some kind of a nagging injury he's playing through. We know the priorities for next year include pitching, but I'd like to see some better bench guys they can plug in.
