  1. Here we go. I couple of hits on Daniels and he’ll be out.
  2. ND eating Navy’s lunch early.
  3. A little better look at that body. He’s Vogelbach Jr.
  4. Why do people hate the Dodgers?
  5. I'd love to see them step up, but I think they are pretty easily the worst team in the division. Minnesota's defense is among the best in the league, Goff has more touchdowns than incomplete passes in the last few games, and the Packers, well horsefeathers the Packers, but they are still the Packers. A lot can happen from now until the end of the season, but the Bears will have to prove it. I don't trust the OL.
  6. mental masturbation is bad for your health.
  7. lol, you are really something.
  8. Compare the way Jed and the Ricketts talk to the Mets David Sterns: "We've got financial flexibility. It means that pretty much the entirety of the player universe I potentially accessible to us... I envision us taking advantage of that opportunity."
  9. My friend, there is no reason why from the standpoint of financial wherewithal. Neither ownership nor baseball operations desire to do so.
  10. I think he had a nagging injury and wasn't right for much of the season.
  11. Especially since I'm asleep by half-time.
  12. NO
  13. Who around here is ok with it? I think most people read and hear what the Cubs are likely to do and accept reality. They never change.
  14. I bet the Ricketts paid upwards of $3,000 total for all that swag. Talk about splurging.
  15. It depends on the definition. I suppose there can be more than one guy at the top of the market. But take the last offseason- although I love Shota, he was well down the list. It'd be nice if 1) he can repeat this coming year and 2) the Cubs do something like that again. I like Freid the most. That would probably qualify as top of the market.
  16. It all depends on one's definition of aggressive. If he can find the right deal, I think he'll trade some high-end minor leaguers. He's probably going to sign a nine-figure pitcher. Will the players they get be at the top of the market? Doubtful.
  17. I don't even think we will say we tried. However, I suspect that even with Boras, he's going to sign quickly with the Yankees and might not even make it to FA. Boras needs some wins.
  18. I see this as a great opportunity for Shaw to get "his feet wet". I doubt that Nico will be ready to go by April. The caveat is I don't know the Cubs depth chart. Maybe he's behind some other people.
  19. I saw a report that the QB from Texas is sitting out the rest of the season to focus on the draft? I don't know if it's true or not. If so, pretty crazy.
  20. where did he play 2/3 of the time? Did the Cubs have two catchers on the roster? He wasn't a catching prospect.
  21. Keller in the hands of the Cubs development people may change those numbers a lot.
  22. No. 438 innins to 595 innigs. But whatever, he spent no time in the minors for 'development'. They knew he wasn't a catcher.
  23. Probably the fact that they didn't even try to see if Schwarber could catch. He spent about 1.3 full seasons in the minors and played OF more than catcher and not by a small percentagew. He was never a catcher in professional baseball in any real sense. It's not a "vibe".
