  1. I’d be interested to know how much juice Warren has to make big changes. I thought he was brought in to help with business of getting them new digs.
  2. Yes, for the foreseeable future, I'm done being skeptical of the pitchers they target either in the draft or FA. All the other frustrations with them aside, they seem to have that part down as much as any organization in baseball. It would be nice if they had some targets though.
  3. I don't think owners care one bit about that sort of thing. Dan Bernstein had a rant yesterday about the Bears' organizational expectations. Although he's kind of a douche, he's right about their expectations being way too low. But I'm also not saying that losing to Green Bay is any worse than losing to Detroit or Minnesota.
  4. I agree. He would have a hard time being overruled by a guy like Poles in player decisions. I cannot say I would blame him. If he makes the jump, he's going to go to an organization where he has more control over the operation. Not to mention the salary he will command. However, I think he's going to stay at Michigan, he's king and his personality is more suited for college football. His rah-rah stuff will get old quickly as it did in SF.
  5. Maybe I'm biased, but Skeens appears to me to be overhyped.
  6. I think a trade is much more likely. My bet is that Montgomery goes back to the Rangers.
  7. He's a lefty so they always look a little odd, but his footwork and body alignment looked awful. He has the size and arm strength to become a project for an outstanding QB coach. In the right situation, he could develop.
  8. Washington guard just got run over
  9. They lie all the time.
  10. This could be the year Dallas finally wins another one. I also like the Ravens.
  11. I'm fine with a Jesus Luzardo trade, just not what was speculated before. No one in the top 5. Morel + Wicks + Triantos/Canario.
  12. too much energy is already wasted on this is personal stuff. Kyle is allowed to have an opinion, even if you think it is off or weird or whatever. Let us let this die, please. I'd rather talk about the Bears' dysfunction than ours.
  13. they got to fire the guy already in the seat. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.
  14. It's going to come down to an intense online chess match, a $2,000 winner-take-all all online gambling festival, or duel with .32 caliber single-shot pistols and 20 paces. You pick.
  15. That's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off. ------------ I would have been all in Yamamoto, but maybe not for the years he got. I get Ohtani and Soto, but They should have been more transparent with Ohtani. I hope like hell they target Soto next year, but he's going to go off in the Bronx.
  16. Yes. On top of all that, the DC disappeared and they fired their RB coach for likely spreading rumors. That shows a lack of leadership ability in the head coach. He's ultimately responsible for all that. They cannot put another QB in a situation where the head coach is a potential lame duck. If they let go of Fields, they need to clean the slate.
  17. Save that for October, not the playoffs, but the regular season. I love what they've done. But they're already closing in on a win-ceiling in a typical year. It's tough to improve on a 100-win season. At the same time, who cares, right? This is MLB, make the best team you can. I wish the Cubs would try to do that sometime.
  18. Fields is an incredible athletic talent, but he’s not a great QB. Maybe he could have become great with better coaching, but it’s too late to find out.
  19. There are so many variables at work 1. Fields wasn’t their guy. 2. they didn’t try for a year or more 3. Poles and Fluss are tied together. If Poles gets rid of Fluss his clock starts ticking. 4. the play calling, chicken or egg? 5. the draft 6. what is going on with the move? 7. Fluss had to become the DC because his DC went AWOL. I’m leaning toward everyone stays but Fields. But it’s the Bears, so not one bit shocked if everyone stays and they load up on picks, including one of the 2nd tier QBs.
  20. This game was not as close as the score. The Bears got dominated.
  21. That’s gotta be a penalty
  22. This game has zipped by.
  23. Gotta put the brisket in the basket. Field goals won’t get it done.
