  1. clemens' attorneys (including rusty hardin, who is a clown) keep mocking mcnamee for being untrustworthy and obsessed w/roger, but they haven't offered a good explanation as to why he'd be adamant about making these charges. clemens has a lot to gain by not telling the truth; what does mcnamee have to gain by lying to federal investigators and to congress?
  2. Which is exactly why I want him at PSU. That and I hate OSU more than any other Big Ten school that doesn't have a Wolverine for a mascot. Really, I just think that if he's really that good, he could make a huge difference at OSU. I just don't think PSU, even with Pryor, is going to be a contender in the next 4 years. Maybe I'm wrong. O$U is the favorite to win the big ten the next 2-3 years with or without pryor. i guess maybe he can make a big difference as far as whether they play for the national championship, but they have the best players right now and the best recruiting class this year as well as last year, so they should be the best team in the league.
  3. i don't know if "his heart is in new york city." it's probably more that snyder is a meddling moron, and he'd have no control over who his OC and DC would be since the skins already hired people at those positions.
  4. no wonder they have a long home winning streak Marquette did nothing but chuck treys all game long, and when they did go inside we had defensive breakdowns and had no one to stop them. It wasn't a very physical game on our end at all. really? because the box score says that Notre Dame took 23 threes, and Marquette took 25.... plus Marquette had 73 shots from the field compared to just 60 for Notre Dame.
  5. i did one of them and was unceremoniously dumped last year. let me back in, i'm good.
  6. no wonder they have a long home winning streak
  7. no way berrian gets franchised, they'd have to pay him the average of the top 5 receivers in the game. he's not even close to being good enough for that. he doesn't merit a transition tag either, but given the nonsense that the seahawks/vikings got away with in the hutchinson and burleson contracts, that tag is very ineffective until there are changes in the CBA.
  8. the problem is that citi field will still be in flushing meadows. i went to a game with my dad back in 2004 (we don't need to get into what happened on the field), and we left south jersey a few hours before the game, just in case we hit traffic. well we didn't hit much, and got to the field with plenty of time before first pitch... so our plan was to park, walk to a restaurant or sports bar, eat lunch and have a couple of cold ones, then head to the dump known as shea stadium. well, that would've been a great plan if shea wasn't surrounded by about 500 auto body shops. (that is my biggest beef with the philly sports complex as well - the new venues are nice, but there's absolutely nowhere to go within walking distance of the park. very different than fenway or wrigley or camden yards, and not different in a good way)
  9. well, everyone does need a batting practice pitcher
  10. calling us "gay" is apparently their favorite insult. aside from the fact that it's idiotic to care what someone you don't know chooses to do with personal life, didn't most people outgrow the "calling other people gay" thing in, like, junior year of high school? i also like that at least 80 percent of the posts contain the f-bomb. maybe they ARE in high school, and the novelty of cursing randomly hasn't worn off yet.
  11. Since 2005, Michigan has recruited 3 QB...Ryan Mallet, David Cone, and Jason Forcier. That can't be good. And what's worse it seems like they put all of their eggs in their basket for Terrelle Pryor, who may not even got to Michigan. There is not a distinguishable QB on Michigan's roster (unless someone familiar with Michigan football can fillme in), so they better hope they land Pryor, or they are looking at a LONG...Notre Dame type season. BTB, even if they land Pryor, I believe Pryor will end at either DE or TE/WR before he leaves college. He just doens't look naturally as a QB. My guess.....David Cone???? it's not that pryor may not go to michigan - it's very likely that he's not going. it's been reported by multiple sources that pryor was going to commit to ohio state on LOI day, but his dad talked to him the night before that and asked him to take an official visit to penn state. so he's going to take officials to psu and oregon now. but ohio state is still the favorite. apparently his dad had some sort of work-related injury and is in a wheelchair or something... i heard this discussed on the radio. it'd be hard for his dad to travel to columbus to see him play, so that's why his dad wants him to come to psu. but apparently the son likes the columbus area better than happy valley and also was spending a lot of his time at the all-american game with ohio state commits. plus they pay better. so that's still the odds on favorite. but the way i hear it now is that michigan (and i suppose oregon as well) are big long-shots. apparently they have a kid who transferred from georgia tech, and he was somewhat highly-regarded coming out of high school, but even if he turns out to be a player, he's going to struggle a lot at first. and, michigan does not have anybody who can run the spread option. the ga tech transfer and david cone are both pocket passers. the only real running quarterback is a guy they just signed from florida, and he wasn't that highly-regarded as a qb prospect. for him to come in and start immediately would be a huge stretch.
  12. Bengie Molina is going to be 33 this year, he's going to keep getting worse. Last year his line was .276/298/433, which is a bit short of spectacular. Eliezer Alfonzo has a career OBP in the bigs of .298. So basically this guy is telling us that a catching tandem that is among the top quarter in the national league may very well have a combined OBP of less than .300 this year? Solid analysis, pal.
  13. so who the hell is going to play qb for michigan next year? terrelle pryor is the wrong answer; he's going to either to$u or, if he goes with where his dad wants him to go, psu.
  14. haha awesome. i've now become known at the brewers' page and desipio. i do enjoy the fact that they refuse to believe there are people in the world who don't have sex until they're in love. or that they're suggesting that someone who posts on an internet message board can't get laid, while they're... posting on an internet message board.
  15. i'm surprised that the word filter didn't change it into a soap fight
  16. i believe the answer you were looking for was "your parents' basement"
  17. another solid game for the cross tonight, 62-46 loss at home to american :x
  18. i disagree with victorino. not to use the "seen him play" argument, but he's an excellent defender (10 assists and covers sa lot of ground) and great baserunner (37 of 41 in SBs, also reads the ball off the bat really well). He may not be all that good in terms of pure hitting, but with the other things that he does, i'd definitely put him above teahen, kearns, cuddyer and delmon young. and what about randy winn? he had a decent year last year, but most of the time he's a bum.
  19. sounds like i am missing a well-officiated game
  20. It's good to see you're already hating after we stole one of your recruits today. all's fair, we stole guys from maryland, miami and pitt in the past. but seriously, i think rich rodriguez is probably a dick.
  21. oprah is an idiot???
  22. i have a feeling that i'm going to hate rich rodriguez. lloyd carr was a boring, bland old guy that nobody could really hate. but rich rod seems like he can really be a dick.
  23. i almost had a heart attack when i heard the deal on espn radio. i actually had to look it up for myself because i figured there must've been something they were leaving out. they didn't trade shawn marion and another guy for just shaq, right? the guy who can't stay healthy, can't play more than about 2/3 of the game, and has two years of a very high number ($20M per) left on his contract. A guy whose playing style is pretty much the polar opposite of what the suns like to play. couldn't be true, right? man the sun better win it all now, because if they don't this trade is going to look really, really bad.
  24. hey i am the first to vote romney! i just voted that because usually the person i like the least ends up winning.
