  1. going to guess that schwarber has not faced many pitchers similar to aroldis chapman.
  2. well you gave him a solid one batter before declaring that he sucks.
  3. this seems like the most obvious bunt situation ever.
  4. reds inexplicably bust out the jock jams soundtrack.
  5. ross not available as a pinch hitter? that's a killer.
  6. ron coomer just referred to clayton richard as the "young lefthander"
  7. tucker barnhart sounds like the name of a trust fund baby who is the biggest d-bag in his high school class.
  8. given his combination of selectivity and low contact, that is kind of to be expected i feel like and the swing profile. it's a pronounced uppercut.
  9. He's been with the same girl since he was 15 apparently that seems like a very kris bryant thing to do.
  10. I'm sure people are wondering how Jake Arrieta transformed into Pedro meh, he always had really good stuff, just a matter of controlling it. frazier was always a pretty good player. it's just the power surge that is confusing. i don't think he ever profiled as a 40 home run hitter.
  11. i am still baffled that todd frazier has somehow turned into in-his-prime mike schmidt.
  12. the mets beat the cardinals in 18 innings today, 3-1. in the game, the mets left 25 runners on base and went 1-for-26 with runners in scoring position.
  13. except for the lack of a Proven Closer®, of course.
  14. hey it's that pitcher we traded for a permanently disabled infielder.
  15. then i guess you don't need to watch it again.
  16. he also has a .820 ops. the only thing "alarming" is that he's hitting .220, which is okay when you're walking once a game and hitting for power. in related news, 3 perfect innings for cease, with 3 strikeouts. someone tell me how excited i should be about him, given the reports on his stuff.
  17. they are built to be at the front end of their window to win. they still have three regulars on offense who haven't even reached 500 plate appearances. those players are likely to improve in the next 2-3 years whereas none of the regulars should decline much, with the possible exception of montero.
  18. well the cubs were easy bad the past few years, so battling to be several games over .500 is a pretty big improvement over that.
