  1. that was such a classic hendry trade. it's like they only looked at his ERA and didn't happen to notice that he had a WHIP pushing 1.6, was walking 4.4 batters per 9 innings and striking out 2.9 batters per 9 innings.
  2. is utley a hall of famer? i'd probably vote yes.
  3. cardinals' pitchers have by far the highest LOB% in baseball (81%; next best is 75.6%). they also have the lowest HR/FB rate of any team in baseball, and the 8th lowest babip. their team ERA is more than half a run better than the next-best team, and is nearly a run better than their xFIP. [expletive] the cardinals.
  4. happ is 2-3 with a home run. tennessee got destroyed; zastryzny was terrible. baez continues to not strike out but also not hit much either.
  5. Am I to understand that there are seven minor league baseball players that literally didn't make an out all week? technically there would be a lot more than seven. most of them being pitchers.
  6. damn, i forgot to tune over to the white sox broadcast for the final out.
  7. Isn't still Ed Farmer? He's really good, he's the best part about the Sox by a mile imo. Rebuttal: http://www.royalsreview.com/2015/7/19/8999599/white-sox-announcer-ed-farmer-is-not-a-fan-of-the-royals
  8. http://www.beyondtheboxscore.com/2015/8/13/9144747/ken-harrelson-chicago-white-sox-better-than-kansas-city-royals
  9. yeah all of a sudden almora's numbers look solid for a 21 year old at AA.
  10. 4th best record in baseball. third in our division.
  11. mlb has apparently partnered with match.com to make a singles page for mlb fans. http://www.match.com/cpx/en-us/partner/mlb/channel/?trackingid=528734&bannerid=2833923 hopefully they partner with tinder or grindr next.
  12. this is a friendly reminder that the cubs have won 5 games in a row and are 15 games over .500, and are outperforming their expected won-loss record by 5 games.
  13. maybe swing at pitches in the strike zone and don't swing at the ones outside it.
  14. fight the evil. you are better than them. don't go full rondon fan. it's called reverse jinxing it failed...sorta there is no such thing as a jinx therefeore there is no such thing as a reverse jinx.
  15. fight the evil. you are better than them. don't go full rondon fan.
  16. a few more games of this and schwarber could have his very own "schwarber sucks bandPUBLICACCESS" thread!

  18. that seems counterintuitive. how are hard hit balls not more likely to be base hits?

  20. Yeah but then I won't see it :-(
  21. phil rogers, ladies and gentlemen! http://m.cubs.mlb.com/news/article/142601624 yes, thanks to that fact, not the fact that practically every other national league team has batted their pitcher in the 9-hole for the past century. ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)
