  1. There's no excuse for making boneheaded plays no matter how much we're winning. who made a bloneheaded play?
  2. It's a tie game, you goon. So? That means bringing in Schwarber from third was even more important. i'm currently working on a novel called "sometimes baseball teams lose." it's a follow-up to my national bestseller "sometimes baseball players fail."
  3. 1 hit, 11 k for de la cruz in 6 innings.
  4. i went to a restaurant in san francisco called the stinking rose. every dish had garlic, even the desserts. pretty good but i was not going to eat garlic ice cream.
  5. the red sox are inexplicably getting rid of don orsillo (one of the better mlb play-by-play men, who is hugely popular among sox fans) at the end of this season.
  6. you guys realize that your pitcher has a glove on his left hand?
  7. can play all three outfield positions and has a career line of .287/.354/.422/.776 against RHP.
  8. Not sure but he definitely didn't have a play at 2nd it looked like tomlinson had an enormous lead and was pretty much off and running before the batter even swung. something to keep in mind for later in the game, because that's an easy pickoff at first base if the batter swings and misses.
  9. You are suggesting he challenge hitters with his 89 mph fastball? He needs to paint the corners with it. He's trying to backdoor everything. paint the corners, i.e. nibbling.
  10. well that was pretty fortunate; if it didn't hit duffy that ball is headed down the RF line and he's probably on third base.
  11. i never understood why they go to such lengths to avoid the pitcher catching a pop-up. thanks guys.
  12. paul goldschmidt hit a home run off john lackey that must have gone close to 500 ft.
  13. http://wrigleyville.locals.baseballprospectus.com/2015/08/26/surging-kris-bryant-making-the-most-of-his-opportunities/
  14. hope everything turns out okay for him. rough couple of months for him, personally.
  15. it's really left wing. i'm pretty solidly left of center politically, and some of the conversations i overhear on trains and on the street make me want to get into an argument with the rabidly anti-GMO folks who think the entire country should be powered by the sun (since too many birds die in wind farms). i could see aggressively right wing people not coping well with the number of gays and hippies they'd see regularly.
  16. if it's lance barksdale, he's normally very good.
