I don't care what anyone says, Geo is absolutely huge this year compared to last. Big guy is right.  sorry i'll root for them to win games that will accomplish absolutely nothing except making draft slot worse in 2010.
even though i want the cubs to lose, i'm kinda glad that soto is playing well right now. he hasn't made any money off of the rookie of the year award yet; if he has a good year in 2010 he should be able to cash in pretty nicely. hopefully he is motivated in the offseason and has a big year, and hopefully the cubs have enough faith in him to not go out and sign some retread to be their starter in 2010.
that offsides penalty was classic michigan st. but yeah they'll beat a good team somewhere along the way and people will wonder how the hell they lost to central michigan.
I really hope they shop him around this offseason. I would think we could at least get a dependable bullpen arm or a decent prospect for Theriot and a low level prospect or cash. yeah we've reached the point of year where he's worn down and will suck the rest of the way.
Kyle Boddy from DrivelineMechanics agrees: http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/167991/bumgarner_medium.gif i'm kinda of annoyed that BA didn't mention anything about his delivery in the prospect handbook. that's the first thing i noticed when i saw him pitching; his delivery is unorthodox and his arm motion is really long. even if you don't agree that it makes him an injury risk, it at least bears mentioning in a long write-up on him.
the cubs have less than 1% chance at making the playoffs, according to BP. in other news, i can't believe the [expletive] cardinals have the best record in the NL.
who are they going to be spoiling? the cardinals are already in the playoffs so they can play spoiler for ONE team, the giants, and by the time the cubs play them, they might be just about done too. go reds.
Might as well kick the tires on Pujols or Hanley Ramirez while we're at it since we're talking about middle infielders, let's get utley for soto and wells.
no kidding. I think our dugout fell asleep when we tied the game. Not sure why he and DeLeon werent getting ready. After Rosa tied it we had a double, a 2 minute pinch hitting gap....and then an out...plus the 2 minutes between innings and NO ONE was getting ready. I was very confused. i thought you guys were saying there were some shoulder problems that he was dealing with.
chiefs get the first 2 on in the 10th but the ridling GIDP - he had a horrible game with 2 K's, a GIDP, another ground out that should've been a GIDP, and an error - and a line out by burke. chiefs lose.
Agreed they haven't done much tonight, but given the Chief's offense on the year, I wouldn't rule them out only down by two runs with two innings to play...top of the order coming up in the bottom of he 8th! down in order.
