  1. yeah that guy may not be a member of the team after this game.
  2. FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT
  3. watching the quality of play in these two games makes me kinda glad that penn state is playing a bunch of OOC cream puffs to start the year.
  4. i might give up cable before i give up dvr.
  5. there should be a drinking game - when bob davie says a team should do one thing, the team does the opposite and it pays off in spades, you have to do a shot. the downside is that you'd be dead by halfway through the second quarter.
  6. pecota needs a dave duncan adjustment.
  7. i really wish bob davie would stop talking.
  8. nice work by parker and gaub in the 9th with a 3 run lead: ground out, walk, double, walk, walk, walk, double, lose.
  9. Uh he said Soriano has no business playing right now. I'm guessing he hasn't listened to Brenly during a Cubs game this year. Soriano has to be one of Brenly's least favorite players. I applaud Brenly for calling it how it is, although he picked a strange time to pile on Bradley. Lets face it, Bradley isn't the reason the Cubs have been losing all season. Even when he was struggling early on in the year, he was still getting on base pretty regularly. While it is obvious that Bradley is a head case and loves to play up the victim role, he still has two years left on his contract and could be a real asset to the team. The team needs to figure out a way for Bradley to keep his mouth shut and not be overly sensitive. brenly has the guys he likes and doesn't like. his soriano-bashing has been justified this year, but mike fontenot has completely tanked, aaron miles has played like he's actually trying to make outs, soto blew, a handful of relievers crapped the bed. bradley hasn't been great but there have been a lot worse players than him this year... he's played well during the entire second half, which is more than a month.
  10. i guess he's a product of Oakland Coliseum and Busch, now? :?:
  11. yeah how about saying that soriano and miles have been a joke this season? no let's pick on bradley.
  12. 2 more runs score after another error and a single. what a meltdown. :(
  13. lol nc state punt returner nearly got decapitated on a face mask and the refs didn't call it.
  14. UGH carpenter melted down in the 5th... ground out, walk, ground out, walk, ground ball single scored 2 (with an error), RBI single, RBI double, BB.
  15. through 3 quarters, about 250 total yards in offense between the two teams. zzzzzzzzzzz
  16. tennessee leads 3-0 after 4. carpenter has 4 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K.
  17. that guy bob wagner went 2-4 with a triple and homer for boise. i have no idea who he is except that he seems to have some nice pop. hak ju lee went 2-4 with a double and SB, but he also had an error. daytona lost their first game thanks to 3 errors from marwin gonzalez. vitters was 2-4 and has doubled in his only AB of the second game.
  18. i wish soriano would just vaporize into thin air.
  19. the white sox chance at making the playoffs is like 5% at best. might as well dump your assets and get something for them. plus we're not idiots; we get mad if someone like harden is non-tendered because he's clearly worth $5M and we wouldn't get mad if we had jim thome and non-tendered him rather than guarantee him $11M for one year.
  20. i'm so glad koyie hill is playing every day.
  21. http://www.theonion.com/content/news/small_unathletic_walk_on_injures_9?utm_source=a-section
  22. late bloomer or the second coming of kevin maas?
  23. i'm not sure if colvin was a top 100 guy. BA had him at #3 in their cubs' top 30, but the cubs' system was in the bottom third of the league at that point. i guess he was borderline, though i think he was badly overrated back then - for a guy who started on an ACC squad for 3 years, .268/.313/.483/.796 in short-season ball combined with questionable ability in CF does not equal a very good prospect to me. i think vitters, cashner, castro and jay jax are all top 100 prospects and brett jackson is probably just outside. my biggest concern is that his K-rate has gotten worse at peoria and his BB rate - still solid - has also eroded. i saw an interview with him where he suggested that he was trying too hard to hit for power his junior year and that's why his K's were up. i like his power at peoria but hope he can hit with some pop without his K rate becoming unmanageable.
  24. jackson just hit his 7th home run for peoria. he's 1-3 with a HBP and K. flaherty is 0-2 with 2 walks. burke has a single and sac fly; lemahieu has a double in 3 ABs.
