  1. another win by tennessee in their last AB! this time in the bottom of the 9th... west tenn is down by 2 right now; if they lose it's tied at the top of the division. castro and colvin each had a double on the night.
  2. Likely leaks from the teams who claimed them. just seems like bullcrap that this is happening to the cubs. this team has enough internal problems without this coming out.
  3. i don't run because my knees suck. when i had better knees, i didn't love running but i did it sometimes to keep in shape, especially when i wasn't swimming. the argument that people don't like running because it's used as a punishment is silly.
  4. When, not if. They've clinched a spot; it was mentioned on the Cubs' telecast today. ah ok... they probably are just going to rotate days off for the regulars the rest of the way.
  5. yeah i'd like to know how it came out that these two guys (specifically) got claimed and who they got claimed by. every team in baseball is putting numerous players on waivers and many of them are getting claimed. seems pretty bogus that this has leaked.
  6. kyler burke is out of the lineup tonight... hopefully just a night off. it'd be nice if the chiefs are at full health if/when they're in the playoffs.
  7. yeah someone did that and he went for $8. more than he should've gone for but not nearly as bad as the $37 paid for the wrong AP.
  8. This is Windermere. that MFer windermere to you, sir.
  9. Hope this helps... it does not.
  10. my brain is melting out of my ears.
  11. i pretty much agree with all the serious posts in this thread - don't trade harden unless it's a good return because you're probably getting two #1 picks for him; trade heilman for whatever.
  12. i don't know much about this robert wagner fella, but he seems to have some big-time pop in his bat. slugging over .600 at both arizona and boise.
  13. i think i've reached the point where i start rooting for the cubs to lose and improve their draft position.
  14. i think if i'm going to stay a cub fan the next five years, i'm going to have to find a way to pretend that soriano doesn't exist.
  15. i'd like to know if it was lou who made that call. this seems idiotic even for him.
  16. are you forgetting the 1969 black cat? that [expletive] lasts FOREVER.
  17. 36 pitches, 17 strikes is probably not a good first inning.
  18. ChiefsVoice posted in another thread that hatley is likely to hear that he needs tj surgery.
  19. i like to think that magic potion is code for fists full of steroids.
  20. bradley has never been a prolific home run hitter... never ever.
  21. he's a very good manager who gets the most out of his players, and the pitching coach he'd bring with him is a magician. of course it would be a good thing for the Cubs. i don't like larussa because he manages the cards but i know that he's good at what he does, so unless he is raping dogs or killing children in his basement, come on down.
  22. what is this "jersey's team" crap? nobody in south jersey likes the devils. South Jersey isn't really Jersey, it's a combination backwoods Georgia and Philadelphia. and north jersey is wannabe new york with a sprinkle of gary, indiana.
  23. they're probably used to not paying attention to anything that happens after may.
  24. because the cubs are the ones already holding the risk. other teams have the option of taking on that risk at $10M per year for 2 years, or leaving it. they'd be wise to leave it since he's often injured and often an a-hole. the cubs would be wise to keep him because he does give fairly good production when he plays, even this year, and if you trade him you're going to have to eat some money and get basically nothing in return, then either sign another expensive guy (which isn't likely to happen) or do your trade idea. and unless you really find a gem, you're not going to take a dump in a box and get an affordable corner outfielder with bradley-like production in return.
