  1. all no-brainers except for cabrera IMO, and if you've got the room to keep him, might as well do it.
  2. disappointing win for the sixers tonight. we need to tank and get harrison barnes. the 2011 draft sucks.
  3. boy it's a good thing that all the best options to replace our management vacancies already happen to be working for the cubs in lesser roles.
  4. why, because they're not signing every international free agent or draftee with a torn labrum and an alarming elbow MRI?
  5. yeah he's crazy good. his shot accuracy is pretty superb, at least judging by what i've seen of him against us.
  6. 7-6 now, halfway through regulation. lightning's 6th goal scored after they were offside by 2 feet. linesman too busy playing with himself apparently. 7-7 after kubina lifts richards' stick up into his own face, drawing a speck of blood. automatic 4 minutes for high sticking himself in the face. awesome.
  7. the flyers lead the lightning 5-4. after the first period.
  8. not to mention exhuming pat summerall's corpse to call the cotton bowl.
  9. He's not a great manager but VERY few people picked the Reds to win the division, so he deserves it. A manager that does not make the playoffs should never win mgr of the year, IMO. why not?
  10. no, not baker. never baker.
  11. offensive depth is even more impressive, to me. rolling a third line of JVR - richards - zherdev is ridiculous. on how many teams in the league can that be your first line? yeah we've had good forward depth for a couple of years now. and you left out jody shelley!!! of course, tonight we ran into carey price and he made 135 saves (figure may not be accurate) for the shutout.
  12. http://blog.cleveland.com/tribe_impact/2009/06/medium_shin-soo-choo-2009.jpg So one player thats all you have? you wrote that nobody developed a star player who wasn't already a professional there. the guy above proves that to be untrue.
  13. right but if the two of them can't get along, then it's pointless to have them at the same level. and if jackson is a goof-off who cuts corners, all of the coaches should be in a position to get him to shape up. you shouldn't just have one guy in the organization who is able to get a guy in his early 20s to shape up.
  14. he's been a lot more accurate than he was in the past, and it helps that he has a lot of talent around him. i mean, on those atlanta teams he usually had a pretty solid offensive line and decent RBs, but his best receiver was algae crumpler and maybe brian finneran or peerless price. plus the eagles have had good offensive game plans for years now. probably the best plan is to rush him but not have your DE's get up the field, because if they do and he scrambles forward out of the pocket, you're screwed. this year's eagles team can definitely be scored on; our LBs are not very good and our CBs aside from asante samuel are a pretty big problem. ellis hobbs gave up like 225 yards to kenny britt for God's sakes. the NFC is pretty wide open... actually the entire NFL is pretty wide open.
  15. haha, the pittsburgh writer voted posey #1, then neil walker and jose tabata #2/3. ahead of heyward. he should never be allowed to vote on anything baseball-related again.
  16. not sure if anyone has seen the news about colin campbell's e-mails, but it's pretty funny. he was sending e-mail to a referee bitching about bad calls going against a particular player. a little amateur sleuthing yielded the result that marc savard is the "little fake artist" and the player who got called for his third minor penalty of the game is gregory campbell, who happens to be colin campbell's son. AND ANOTHER: so now he is asking about a call that the home radio announcers made sound like a bad call. the player penalized? gregory campbell. he should lose his job but the NHL is dumb, so he will keep it.
  17. we have won our last 3 games by a score of 18-4 and have the best goal differential in the league... would be nice to see this roll last all year but we'll slump at some point. love the depth on D though.
  18. how the hell did we lose to these guys at home
  19. sean avery laid a big hit on an edmonton player in the third period of their game. a guy from the oilers challenged avery to a fight; avery told him "no, next shift", so the guy relaxed, which was followed by avery throwing off his gloves and punching the guy in the face (the guy did get his gloves off, but wasn't anywhere close to being ready to fight when avery nailed him), followed by avery courageously attempting to wail on the guy who's down on the ice. what a clown. someday avery might just get stabbed on the ice when nobody is looking.
  20. man what a great result that giants-cowboys game was... giants lose to a bad team (eagles can catch them with a win tomorrow night) and cowboys hurt their draft position. here's to the cowboys beating the lions next week!
  21. tim tebow just threw his first nfl TD pass. i think thom brennaman needs a pants change.
  22. nice work giants... keep it up!

  24. is this really accurate? yeah, it meant that oregon didn't need to score again, but that missed field goal came with a ton of time left and even if you assume everything plays out exactly the same, oregon would just try a short field goal at the end to win the game. it's not like cal blew a 30 yard field goal with time expiring.
