  1. dude made almost $19m as a major league player... is he really that desperate for cash? must have a coke habit or something.
  2. they spelled ryan leif's name wrong
  3. [expletive], the yankees are going to stomp the rangers
  4. and that was against pretty much the best cuban players (who haven't defected)... wtg archer
  5. agreed. problem for the giants is, the phillies can hit and they can't. The Giants have two tough LHPs (Sanchez and Bumgarner) who'll cause issues for the Phillies. I think the Phillies will win the series (in 6), but it'll be closer and lower scoring than people expect. it depends on whether or not sanchez throws the ball over the plate. the phillies are a patient team and won't help him out by swinging at a lot of bad balls. by the way, the phillies hit better against LHP than against RHP this season. utley is just as good against LHP as RHP (and actually was much better against LHP this year), and the problems that howard (especially) and ibanez (to a lesser extent) suffer against them are offset by the fact that werth kills lefties, and victorino and ruiz are significantly better against them.
  6. no i believe it was the guy with the 5th-worst completion percentage in the league leading the jets to victory.
  7. how the hell is tampa 3-1
  8. i really wanted to bet the vikings but after the whole favre dong business i backed off. glad i did because i'd be pretty irate right now (the vikings had the cover until that pass)

  10. It's the same ridiculous dancing across the field every TD. No other QB in the history of the NFL celebrates their TDs even half as emphatically as him. Just annoys the hell out of me. And sure he's allowed to celebrate his 500th TD. But his 500th TD celebration looked no different than his 274th or his 119th. well this one he looks a lot more like a creepy old guy who sends photos of his wang to reporters.
  11. The NFL hates Rodgers for not being Brett Favre. lol
  12. nice job devils
  13. hey that's a cheap shot at meteorologists.
  14. this is going to be hilarious when the eagles lose to a guy who was pretty much being booed out of the game by his home fans.
  15. maybe next year they'll just give whoever is matched up with the NL Central winner a bye in the first round rather than them going through the formality of sweeping the series.
  16. When are people going to learn how to spell his first name? to be fair this particular poster spells pretty much everything wrong.
  17. poor cubbiebum
  18. if there is ever a good time to play MSU it's the week after they play michigan. they like having letdowns then.
  19. sounds good to me. by the way, tcu is still looking really impressive. if they trample air force and beat up on utah in SLC, they should very much be a part of the title conversation.
  20. nice to see the officiating in the league is still a joke. danny briere took 2 minutes for roughing for getting punched in the face too much, then ville leino got a holding call with less than 5 minutes left for not having either arm around the player he was defending, then briere got drilled into the blues net about 100 feet behind the play without a call.
  21. so one or two really good months don't count if you suck the rest of them apparently? WAR is really good at taking a guy's numbers and looking at them over the entire course of a season so that we don't completely throw out two really good months because they were followed by four months of mediocrity.
  22. tommy hunter's numbers are a BABIP and LOB mirage... the rays should beat him. that would set up another cliff lee-david price matchup for game five in tampa, which would be a lot of fun.
  23. i wonder if they could work this whole thing into his wrangler ads.
  24. lowering prices back to a couple of years ago isn't going to "keep the place packed." when the cubs suck, like they did this year, there will be empty seats. there were in 2006, there were in 2002, etc. the cubs will have a packed house when they're good and attendance will go down when they're bad, but not too much because a lot of people buy tickets well in advance and people just go to see wrigley field anyway. the proper answer is for the cubs to spend money more wisely and to not be bad at baseball.
  25. datsyuk still has a shot at another undeserved selke trophy [/bitter mike richards fan]
