  1. thank God, i was worried that people were starting to realize that fukudome doesn't completely go in the tank after the first month of the season.
  2. what on earth would be the point? galaragga gives up more HRs and gets fewer K's but isn't as prone to the walk. they're both back of the rotation filler and i don't really see any reason to make a straight-up trade like this.
  3. was it really? man i am really losing it lately. apparently i forgot all of last year, including michigan football and bobby bowden being forced into retirement.
  4. i don't really understand firing rich rodriguez. carr left the cupboard pretty bare last season and they certainly weren't the type of players who fit rodriguez' system. this year he was able to install his offense with his type of quarterback and they were very prolific. the defense is a joke but as long as they recruit better players on D, you'd have to think they'll improve. hiring a guy who runs a completely different system than the coach before him and then firing him after two years is just silly.
  5. this is like putting an MVP bonus in a neifi perez contract.
  6. i don't think so. we already know that tulsa is better than notre dame and hawai'i is probably better than a miami team playing a sub-par bowl with no coach.
  7. he's really good... in the second half of the year. he's traditionally been terrible early in the season.
  8. Old joke, anything in lime green is sarcasm. or is unreadable
  9. hahaha i must be getting as senile as bobby bowden. jeez.
  10. yeah if we trade them our entire minor league system we might have a shot here.
  11. really? you could see jeter saying "screw you yankees!" and turning down 3 years, $45 million to leave the place he's played his entire career and is beloved, and go play for less money in another city, which would make yankee fans pissed off at him. it's not like they'd blame the team when they were easily the highest bidder. leaving for less money than the yankees' initial offer is about the last thing i could see him doing.
  12. why would you play a defense against the patriots? dumb.
  13. the jets are lucky to have the record they do have, and this beat-down is richly deserved.
  14. top 10 games: 1. oregon vs auburn (duh) 2. tcu vs wisconsin 3. va tech vs stanford 4. ohio state vs arkansas 5. lsu vs aTm 6. alabama vs michigan st 7. south carolina vs florida st (spurrier vs bowden!) 8. oklahoma st vs arizona 9. missouri vs iowa 10. tulsa vs hawai'i 10 worst games: 1. 15. ron zook showed some big ten loyalty/homerism - wisconsin, osu and msu were 3/4/5 on his ballot with tcu behind them at #6.
  16. hey, bill cosby probably does.
  17. most people view the cubs system as being deep, but lacking in star-level potential.
  18. or notre dame wants in, or the big xii collapses and texas is interested in joining. there are scenarios where they could try to expand but they have to make a splash, not just throw in extra teams for the hell of it.
  19. some random ball state assistant coach tweeted this today: ouch.
  20. http://video.nhl.com/videocenter/console?catid=35&id=86039
  21. no, 2004 pitt was terrible too. they're just about the same as 2010 uconn.
  22. wasn't the FSU team that Penn State played in the Orange Bowl a few years back 8-4? yeah but they weren't nearly as bad as the big east qualifiers. that FSU team was #23 in the sagarin ratings; pitt was #55 and uconn (before the USF game) was #61.
  23. i guess uconn has to be the worst bcs bowl team of all time, right? probably either them or the pitt team that got their doors blown off by alex smith/urban meyer utah.
