Its just passing/approaching Noon across the US. I half-expect for a few deals to go down today with the winter meetings starting tomorrow. Does anyone else feel this way? What deals do you expect to go down? Will the cubs be involved in any?

I actually think it's going to be a very slow day in baseball. I think it's going to be a very busy week starting tommorow though. I'm looking forward to it...I think.

I'm just running on the assumption that GM's wanna get some of their free agent buisness out of the way before the trade talk starts.

With the meetings starting tomorrow I dont really see any trading today (though, it'd be nice) but I do see free agent signings. The only guy I want us to sign, really, is Burnett. Well, and nomar and walker, but thats not gonan happen. (well, Walker isnt really a free agent, whatever)

I'd rather have spent 13 million on Furcal than the 10+ million over 5 years that Burnett is going to get. I wouldn't feel any more comfortable with Burnett than Wood. There are better things to spend money on.

With our luck, I don't feel comfortable with any Cub pitcher out there.

No kidding. We could have found a way to injure Cal Ripken, Brett Favre, and Lou Gehrig. Seriously.
