Bradley could lead off, of course - and absent another option he might for the Cubs. But it's not really a good fit. He strikes out a fair amount, isn't a true base stealer, and his 20-25 HR potential would be wasted. He's much better suited to break up a chain of righties in the middle of the order.

His power makes up for his Ks.

Do the Cubs really want someone trying to steal bases ahead of Lee & Ramirez? Why is power wasteful in the leadoff spot? The Cubs have starting pitchers that can swing the bat and should also get good production out of the 8 slot.

That's a really bad middle of the infield in terms of defense. I doubt Hendry would do that since it seems he's going after defense this year.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned previously but it now looks like the Marlins are insisting that the Yankees include Robinson Cano in any trade involving Juan Pierre.

That's more like it. There was no way the Marlins were going to trade Pierre for Sean Henn and Scott Proctor. The rumors yesterday didn't make much sense.

Personally, I don't want the Cubs giving up anything of value similar to what Cano's value is. Throw in a couple of players, one who is a decent prospect (Henn, would probably rank between 25-30 in the Cubs system) and a middle reliever and I would be extremely disappointed if the Cubs gave up something close to what Florida is currently looking for. Personally, I don't want the Cubs to give up anything for Slappy. Period. :P

I'd rather they go after Bradly or Lofton after the Phils don't give him arbitration. Baring that trot Patterson or Hairston out there. I don't like Piere one bit.
