Posters tend to complain of sifting through 20 pages of junk to get any updates in the transaction thread.

How about adding a filter?

When posting, posters can specify if their post is info substantiated by source or just opinion. Not sure if any other categories would be important. And readers could choose to display all categories or just one.

But this way, it'd be more efficient use of time to peruse through a page of facts rather than reading 20 pages of opinions to find the facts.

You would need to install a mod to do it, but there's no reason it can't be done.

Well, if the mod doesn't exist, tht would be a good reason it can't be done.

If you know of such a mod, I'd be interested in taking a look.

On a somewhat related note, is it possible to have it where when you click on a thread, it takes you to the last post that you viewed? It's a real pain in the butt when you leave off at say page 13 only to have the thread be up to 30 pages on your next visit. That and it's impossible to remember where you left off.

Premium has that feature. Probably my favorite one too.

Inside of a thread? How do you use it?

Just click the orange note next to the thread title. non-premium kind of has that feature, but it takes you to the most recent post at the beginning of your session.

oh, and for those of us who wind up using both premium and non-premium with firefox (no idea if anyone but me does that): it won't work with both. while it works fine on premium, non-premium will send me to the same post every time.

In the regular UI, you have to shut down and open a new browser and it will take you to the most recent post as of when you began your latest session.

That is actually a really good idea, unlikely as it is since the mod doesn't seem to exist.

I don't have time to post much, but I can't believe no one has thought of a way to do this. I don't know much about how forums are designed, but it just seems that there should be a way to filter posts.

If not, then how about a manual way. You have one topic on one player and only "facts" - i use this term loosely b/c I also mean anything that has a source (including rumors) - can only be posted there. And then you have another thread for that player/FA that includes all comments, opinions, discussions, etc.

Now there's probably a better way of doing, but don't you think even this way is still an improvement?
