Let's move some younger pitching

Just looking at some of the young pitching we have in AA and AAA, isn't it time to unload some of these guys to make room for the Marshalls, Marmols etc..

 

I would like to see what Hill, Guzman and Ryu can do here, but not locked into them if we could acquire a slugging RF. But guys like Wellemeyer, Brownlie, Koronka, Leicester, Mitre and Rohlicek would seem to have no place or chance here. I say bundle a few of them and unload them for a Dunn, Abreu or Giles.

I doubt Dunn or Abreu could be had with a bunch of quantity. Those teams are going to want quality over quantity to move those guys.

Koronka will likely be in our pen next year. He deserves a shot after a lights out start to the fall.

That doesn't leave much room for Koronka especially considering Wellemeyer, Mitre and Leicester are all out of options. Add in the liklihood of acquiring a reliever via trade or FA and there's even less of a chance. The Cubs may want to keep Hill at Iowa as a starter. On the other hand, Hill isn't getting any younger and could likely be a dominant reliever right now if the Cubs chose to add a 3rd LH to the pen.

I doubt Van Buren makes the team either but there still isn't room for Koronka unless someone gets hurt.
