When one of the things I heard was Bakers call for arms and of course it was for veteren ones at that. Does anyone remember this from one of the Hendry blurbs and what kind of "vet" pitching does the Walking Dude want?

I'm pretty sure that's all I heard - was that Baker wanted a veteran arm or two in the pen. Frankly, I really think Hendry ought to do this for him. Not that I'm a supporter of Dusty's veteran love, but if Hendry can do anything to get Dusty to trust his bullpen a bit more, our starters arms might not all fall off by the end of the season.

Good point. I just worry if they do this what will they do with all this young pitching when it comes time for the Rule 5 draft. I'd hate to see them lose a decent young arm like they did Sisco.

How about Terry Mulholland? He's a pro...

And he's a family man who won't be swayed by the temptations of the chicago nightlife!

If the veteran arm is Dotel, I'm all for the plan.

Last I heard, Dotel would be out pretty much all of this season. Have you heard otherwise?

You have a link for that? Last reports that I linked in the Dotel thread is that he'll be ready by spring training.

I should have prefaced my "last I heard" by saying I don't hear much. This is from June when the injury first happened.

ESPN Story

I don't have a link, but there was a recent report that said that Dotel would be ready for ST.

The link in the thread on Dotel. I'm sure they thread has been bumped to the second or third page by now.
