But do you think he would have hurt the cubs if he was on the team this past year? I mean you know who was batting in our top two spots, and they couldn't even see pods OBP.

That falls more on the stupidity of the manager than on the players themselves. Come on, don't make it sound like Patterson, Neifi, and Macias had good or even passable OBPs. Hairston was up and down.

But I'd take some one like Murton, Cedeno, or Walker over Podsednik offensively without much of a second thought.

Nah I understand. My point was just that having Podsednik and his numbers in our offense this past year would have helped our team. I agree, there are plenty of folks that are better than Podsednik, but having him in CF this past year would have been beneficial to our offense.

so is jenks and he's harder to find (for the cubs anyway). Hairston is as good as Podsednik.

I've never seen in Hairstons stats 60 steals

I dont know. wish the Cubbies were in the Series.......

or 23 CS. His baserunning hurts the team.

and his 60 steals help the team

thats still 37+, which is well above Hairston........

The point is that the 23 hurt the team more than the 60 help. The white sox would score more runs if he never tried to steal at all

really?

I dont agree..I really dont. I guess I just believe its better to push then to hold...but then again whatta I know......

stats tell a story, this I agree. but stats dont account for the nuances..even an ATTEMPTED SB out is better then a double play out....

Remember..... the white sox won game 1 of the series back in '59, and as I remember it, that turned out OK.

Memo to Jambrone or whatever your name is.....

Quit trying to IM me. There is absolutely nothing you have to say that I need to hear. I don't want to engage you in any kind of battle of wits, that just runs contrary to the way I was raised. There is no honor in battling an unarmed opponent. If there's any message board out there in cyberspace from which you haven't yet been banned, take your sorry act there and try celebrating your team's win without trolling. It would be a singularly unique experience, no?

Knock on wood..

While I rant on Garner, why did Garner bring in Springer, he's been brutal all year, you're able to get lucky with Rodriguez, bring in a quality reliever that keeps the lead at 4-3 and replace him with Springer.

Don't do it too hard, though. He may land on the DL.
