There's nothing substantive here, except that Murton hopes to prove with his performance in the AFL that he can handle a starting job.

 

So far, so good. He's hitting .480 there.

 

"I think this past year was a good year for me, being able to prove I was able to play up there," he said. "I think I'm ready and capable of stepping in and playing left field next year."

murton will probably start in LF. cedeno will have a starting IF position. ...unless we acquire some big name FA that we "have" to play in their places. those two guys are going to save us a bundle of cash to spend other places. Hendry isn't completely [expletive] (even if Baker is).

Not to rain on the parade here but Murton's average is down to a pathetic .424 in the AFL. Yesterday he came up 4 times and only got a hit once. If you do the math there, that's .250. Surely that's not the sort of performance that will go over in the "show", if you know what I mean.
